Award winning Bollywood star, and BAFTA nominee for his supporting role in the TV drama The Boy With The Topknot Anupam Kher has been sampling the beautiful locales and cuisine of Yorkshire.
The veteran actor was in Yorkshire recently for the filming schedule of The Accidental Prime Minister. The Khosla Ka Ghosla star took to Instagram to share how much he enjoyed his stay at Broughton Hall Estate in Skipton.
In a video he uploaded to the social media site, Anupam said:
“It was amazing to be at this place, Broughton Hall Estate, for so many days shooting for The Accidental Prime Minister.
“Such a beautiful and calming place. I must say this really helped me concentrate and focus on one of the most difficult roles that I have done, in terms of physicality and making it internal. Because performance wise, Dr Manmohan Singh is a very visible and known today’s persona. And the world knows him from Television and various sources of information.
“So, I will miss this place. It’s beautiful. Jai Ho!”
The actor, also took the opportunity to indulge in a curry at the award-winning Shimla Spice based in Shipley.
Anupam ordered a vegetarian mix and chana paratha for starters. He followed this up the Shimla Spice desi mix vegetable Karahi for mains, accompanied by Bombay aloo and Tarka Dal. The Bradford Curry Awards Best Restaurant finalist couldn’t believe that the popular Bollywood star had chosen to eat at their restaurant, out of the hundreds of curry places in the Curry Capital.
“He enjoyed his food and seemed to be a very friendly guy.” Said a spokesperson from Shimla Spice
“We are delighted Anupam Kher enjoyed his food. He was a pleasure to serve and was really good to fans and staff and posed for pictures.
“It’s great when you get international film stars come to eat, as it shows we must be doing something right with our food for them to choose to come and eat here. After all we are award winning for a reason”
