Members working in the NHS in England will strike for fair pay on Monday 13 October for four hours from 7am to 11am. This will be followed by four days of action short of a strike, on Tuesday 14 October to Friday 17 October. This action will focus on making sure members take their breaks.
The campaign being held is for the NHS to be properly funded so that staff members are well motivated and fairly paid.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Director of Human Resources, Pat Campbell, said: “Bradford Teaching Hospitals, like other public sector organisations, is facing industrial action on October 13. Arrangements have been made to ensure that patient safety and levels of care are not compromised by any industrial action.”
He went on to say that “All essential services, such as emergency and urgent surgery, will continue
as normal. Some routine surgery and outpatient clinics have been rearranged and we have notified all patients if their appointment has been affected. If you haven’t heard from us, please assume your appointment is going ahead as normal.”
