On Friday 1st February, the Castle Hill Ranger, Julian Brown, invites people to join him on a walk to enjoy the celebration of Imbolc and the first signs of spring. It’s a great chance to take in the magnificent views around Castle Hill, the iconic landmark of Kirklees.
Imbolc is a traditional Gaelic festival that marks the beginning of Spring and is celebrated between 1st-2nd February.
The walk will be around six miles in length and of moderate/hard level. It will start at 10am and last for around three hours.
Walkers should meet in the car park at the top of the hill and should wear good footwear and warm waterproof clothing. There will be slopes, rough terrain, and a number of stiles on the walk. No dogs, except assistance dogs, allowed.
To book a place on this free walk, contact Julian, tel: 07870 570914.
