Cllr Imran Hussain gains the PPC seat for Bradford East in 2015 General Election

-

Councillor Imran Hussain has been selected for Labour to stand as the next prospective parliamentary candidate. The last vacancy was filled by Cllr Hussain and he will be standing for Labour in Bradford East.

Cllr Hussain is best known for unsuccessfully defending the neighbouring constituency of Bradford West at the “Bradford Spring” by-election in 2012 when George Galloway MP of Respect was the surprise victor. A human rights and serious crime barrister by background, Hussain is the Deputy Leader of Bradford Council. Tenth on the official list of 106 Labour targets, he is seeking to overturn a Liberal Democrat majority of only 365 votes and unseat incumbent MP David Ward.

Geared up for the upcoming election Cllr Hussain has been out campaigning and is ready for the political fight.
