Internationally renowned Singer/Songwriter Ahmad Hussain’s much anticipated UK tour got off to a successful start with a sold out concert in his hometown of Sheffield, followed by a full capacity show in the historic Playhouse theatre in Bradford.
Crowds were treated to a journey of spiritual music in an evening packed full of inspiration and entertainment. Ahmad who has recently returned from successful tours of South Africa and the Caribbean was accompanied by his full live band.
Speaking exclusively to the Asian Sunday, Ahmad spoke about his tour and future projects: “I would like thank everyone for attending my concerts, it was an absolute pleasure to perform for you and share my spiritual musical journey. I feel currently in the UK we have a climate where families are reluctant to attend such events due to the constant negativity surrounding many charities that seem to use these platforms to pressure people into giving using hard sales tactics and prolonged appeals, at my events my team and I ensured that no such activity took place and families were able to enjoy a full on performance and we will be looking to promote this concept at the Southern leg of the tour as this is this is what audiences want to see.
“I am an advocate of supporting charities and have done for many years and will continue to do so, but also want to ensure as artists we can create an environment for our supporters to enjoy our performances without any hidden agendas”
Local charity the Intouch foundation have been supporting my tour and I appreciate the commitment of their volunteers and staff in making it a huge success.
Talking about his future plans, Ahmad discussed his recent collaboration with Pakistani superstar and Bollywood legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. “I recently had the honour of working alongside and recording a sufystical inspired single with the legendary RFAK saab and will be travelling to Pakistan in the coming week to record the music video and to plan my ‘An evening with’ concerts in major cities of Pakistan”
Ahmad was recently inducted into the Muslim power 100 list, a major achievement to be recognised as one of the most influential Muslim personalities in Britain.
“The Muslim 100 was launched at a star-studded gala dinner in Central London at the intercontinental, Park Lane.
This is the second time ever that such an initiative was held in Britain. The last being over a decade ago where the late Abdul Sattar Edhi was the guest speaker. It was an absolute honour to be featured in the list with some of the most influential Muslims in Britain and to have the honour of bracing the stage and performing in front of a crowd that consisted of the most influential Muslims from the world of showbiz, sports, business and politics”
