Preeya Kalidas will be making waves as BBC Asian Network announce that will be hosting her own show

British actress and singer Preeya Kalidas will host a new programme on the BBC Asian Network. The announcement was made today as part of the station’s new schedule changes.
Award winning Preeya, who has been seen in EastEnders, Four Lions and Bombay Dreams, is currently a lead in the West End musical Bend It Like Beckham.
Preeya says: “I’m looking forward to spending my Saturday afternoons talking to the nation on the brilliant BBC Asian Network. I had my first ever interview on Asian Network and have grown up listening to great talent on the station. It’s an honour to be a part of the team. My dad always said I had a perfect face for radio!”
The former EastEnders actress, who played Amira Masood in the soap, is currently starring as Pinky in the West End theatre production of Bend it like Beckham and played Monica in the original 2002 film version.
Preeya starred in BBC Three’s live TV musical Bollywood Carmen as well as the lead in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and AR Rahman’s ground-breaking West End musical Bombay Dreams. The actress, dancer and singer has also picked up consecutive UK Asian Music Awards for ‘Best Female Artist’ having released a number of hit singles including ‘Cross My Heart’ (featuring Skepta), ‘Love Between Us’ and the chart smash ‘Shakalaka Baby’.
Preeya’s first radio show on the BBC Asian Network will be broadcasted on Saturday 28th November, 1 – 3pm.
