British Airways paid homage to Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan yesterday at the official launch ceremony of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the London to Hyderabad route.
The new aircraft, which touched down at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad on Monday 31 March, features a plaque honouring the megastar, Amitabh Bachchan. The collaboration marks the rich legacy, commitment and success in India for both the airline, which has been flying to the country for 85 years, and Bachchan, who has been a leading figure in Indian cinema for decades.
Customers travelling to and from Hyderabad will now get the opportunity to travel on the airline’s newest aircraft, the 787, which offers new levels of comfort and reduced jet-lag thanks to improvements in air quality, mood lighting, and quieter cabins.
Commenting on the occasion Bachchan, said: ‘I am delighted to be associated with the launch of British Airways’ 787 Dreamliner in India. London is one of my favourite destinations and there is no better way to travel to the city than with British Airways. The service, food and flat beds on the long-haul flights are second to none and I always arrive feeling well rested.’
‘My family and I have been flying with British Airways for years. The airline holds a strong legacy in India and I hope they continue to serve us with the same zeal and fervour, forever.’
