The first trailer of Will Smith’s Collateral Beauty is out and people can’t help but compare it to It’s a Wonderful Life.

The trailer introduces a retreated New York advertising executive (Smith) who is dealing with the death of his daughter. He withdraws from his work colleagues who try to help him, but instead to cope with the tragedy he writes letters to concepts like Love and Death.

The thing is, they write back and appear in his life. Helen Mirren is death, Keira Knightley is Love and Jacob Latimore (relative newcomer) is Time.

The film will clash with the release of Star Wars:Rogue One, but if anyone can battle with a biggie Smith is the man.

Collateral Beauty also stars Edward Norton, Kate Winsley, Naomie Harris and Michael Peña, directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada), and opens in UK cinemas boxing day.
