Two television journalists from WDBJ7 were shot and killed in Virginia on Wednesday morning while conducting a live interview.
The man behind the attack is said to be fellow journalist Vester Lee Flanagan II, known professionally as Bryce Williams. Flanagan was fired from the station after working there for a year and is believed to have had a vendetta against the two journalists.
Flanagan shot dead 24-year-old TV reporter Alison Parker and 27-year-old cameraman Adam Ward whilst reporting. The woman being interviewed was shot in the back.
The shooting occurred at about 6:45 a.m. local time during a live interview broadcast from Bridgewater Plaza, a Smith Mountain Lake recreation site with restaurants, shops, boating and arcades and holiday rentals.
US state of Virginia Police have confirmed that Flanagan has died after shooting himself.
