Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in the Indian city of Bangalore, police have said. Mishra, 32 has been accused by the woman of assaulting her in a luxury hotel in the city last month.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner has been capped 16 times by his country and is in the squad to face South Africa in the four-match series which starts in 5 November. Amit Mishra did play in the final match of the one-day series against the South African’s, which was the day after his arrest, a match which the Indian’s were comprehensively beaten in.
Mishra in 31 one day internationals and 16 tests has taken 107 wickets since his debut in 2003.
