On Friday 21 April, the lastminute.com London Eye will illuminate the London skyline with a special crescent moonlight display to mark the festival of Eid Ul Fitr and the end of the month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is an Islamic religious holiday observed by over two billion Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting during daylight hours, prayer, reflection, and community.

From dusk until dawn, the London Eye will light up in stunning shades of green, representing Islamic heritage. White lights making up a crescent will also represent the crescent moon, waxing to a full moon and then waning until the crescent moon appears again to mirror the specific phases of the moon across Ramadan. As a grand finale the moon made up of shining white lights will burst into celebratory sparkles to reflect the excitement and celebration of Eid.

Imran Tauqir, General Manager of the lastminute.com London Eye, said: “We are proud to support our capital’s diverse communities and join billions of Muslims around the world in celebrating Eid by lighting up the London skyline with our bespoke light up. We wish all our Muslim friends a very happy Eid Mubarak!”
