Oasis is making a grand return-not just to the stage, but also to the big screen. Sony Music has announced that the band’s highly anticipated reunion tour will be accompanied by a feature film, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight on board as a producer.
Directing the project are Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the duo behind acclaimed music documentaries Meet Me in the Bathroom and Shut Up and Play the Hits. Sony Music Vision will distribute the film, while Magna Studios, known for Beastie Boys Story and Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, is producing. No official release date has been confirmed.
The film is set to document the band’s first performances since their dramatic split in 2009, when a backstage bust-up in Paris led to their sudden break-up. Last August, Oasis sent fans into a frenzy by announcing their reunion on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “This is it, this is happening.”
The tour kicks off in Wales this July before moving through England, Scotland, and Ireland. It will then head to North America, with stops in Toronto, Chicago’s Soldier Field, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, before concluding with shows in Mexico City, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
Fans wasted no time sharing their excitement online. One called it a dream come true, while another simply exclaimed, “Oh my God, WHAT?!” Some, however, were more sceptical, with one asking, “Liam, is this true or false information again?”
With their explosive sibling rivalry and a back catalogue of generation-defining hits, the Oasis reunion is shaping up to be one of the biggest musical moments of 2025 both on stage and on screen.
