The excitement surrounding Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to build as the much-anticipated film prepares for its release this week. Following the electrifying trailer, the makers have kept the momentum going with a series of chart-topping songs. After the intense Pushpa Pushpa number, the captivating Angaaron song, and the infectious Kissik track, the focus now shifts to the romantic energy of Peelings, the latest song to be released from the film.
The Peelings Song Video, featuring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is a power-packed celebration of romance. Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the song has been released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Hindi. The 4-minute-11-second video showcases Arjun and Mandanna delivering energetic dance moves, while other moments highlight the evocative lyrics penned by Chandrabose. The video also includes glimpses of behind-the-scenes efforts, featuring director Sukumar, the lead actors, composer Devi Sri Prasad, and cinematographer Miresłow Kuba Brożek. The track is sung by Shankarr Babu Kandukoori and Laxmi Dasa.
The song’s vibrant, massy, and upbeat nature has already won over many fans, with one stating: “I really enjoy the upbeat and playful vibe it brings to the movie. The fusion of Hindi and Telugu in the song adds an extra layer to the storytelling. Sukumar’s direction and Allu Arjun’s performance, along with the music by Devi Sri Prasad and lyrics by Javed Akhtar, make it a delightful treat for fans of the movie!”
However, the choreography, crafted by Sekhar Vulli VJ, has sparked polarised reactions online. With bold and unconventional dance moves, the steps have become a focal point of discussion, even overshadowing Pushpa and Srivalli’s onscreen chemistry.
Social media comments range from admiration to outright criticism, with some viewers praising the actors’ commitment to the choreography, while others have voiced discomfort. Reactions have included comments such as, “How? Just how did someone okay this?”,
“This is making me so uncomfortable, eww,” and “Allu Arjun is such a good dancer—why do they have to do this?”
The choreography has also reignited the North versus South debate, as viewers from different regions weigh in on its style and execution. While the song remains a chart-topping contender with its infectious rhythm and high-energy visuals, the divisive response highlights how bold creative choices can lead to intense public scrutiny.
Nevertheless, as the film gears up for its release on 5 December 2024, the makers have also shared a behind-the-scenes video, offering a glimpse into the hard work and dedication that went into creating Pushpa 2. The BTS Video captures Allu Arjun’s unwavering commitment to portraying Pushparaj, Rashmika Mandanna’s charm as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil’s commanding presence as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. Director Sukumar’s visionary storytelling and collaboration with the talented cast and crew are evident, promising a cinematic spectacle that will captivate audiences worldwide.
