Arrested Development’s Jessica Walter has passed away age 80

Award-winning actress Jessica Walter has sadly passed away aged 80. The news was confirmed by her family.

“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom,” sated Walter’s daughter Brooke Bowman. “A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off.”

The actress was best known for her role on Arrested Development as Lucille Bluth. Walter also won an Emmy for her role in the police show ‘Amy Pentiss’ as well as being nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the Clint Eastwood film ‘Play Misty for Me’. That was only one of two Golden Globe nominations that Walter recieved, the second being for the film ‘Grand Prix’.

Tony Hale, who starred in Arrested Development alongside Walter took to his Twitter to mourn the loss of the actress.

“She was a force, and her talent and timing were unmatched. Rest In Peace Mama Bluth,” wrote the actor.
