Congratulations and celebrations to parents Priya and Pritpal on the birth of their son at Hillingdon Hospital on New Year’s Day.
The first baby delivered on New Year’s Day 2023 at the hospital in Pield Heath Road, Hillingdon, was a boy, so far un-named, to mother, Priya Hans (28) and father, Pritpal Singh (33), of Hayes.
He was born at 7.37am and weighed 3.626kg (7.994lbs), delivered by Priscilla Baffour, Midwife. The little boy is a brother for Arnab Gill, aged 15 months.
The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust team believe that all of the babies born every day and year are special but as is tradition, a basket of gifts is given to the family of the first child born on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in the Labour Ward and the Midwifery-Led Unit in the Maternity Department at Hillingdon Hospital.
Krissy Moore, Labour Ward Co-Ordinator on New Year’s Day morning, said: “Everyone working in the department on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day feels a sense of hope and expectation for the year ahead, and the safe arrival of the first little one of the year gets the year off to a happy start.
“We look forward to giving excellent care to the more than 4,000 mothers and their new babies we expect to look after at Hillingdon in 2023.”
Priya said: “I’m feeling very blessed with a baby born on New Year’s Day. He came really quickly and the staff made it much easier for me and were very helpful and patient.”
Happy New Year to the family, and the whole team in the Maternity Department at Hillingdon Hospital.
