Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s friendship, which spans over three decades, is one of the most enduring in Bollywood. The duo has collaborated on numerous iconic songs and films, but Farah recently admitted that working with the superstar has become more challenging over the years.
In a candid conversation with ETimes, Farah opened up about the deep bond she shares with Shah Rukh, which dates back to the early days of his career, before hits like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Deewana. Despite their long-standing friendship, Farah confessed that working with him now brings an increased level of pressure.
“If it was hard working with him then, it is harder now. Every time we work on a song, the pressure doubles because we have created such iconic songs together,” she said, reflecting on their past collaborations.
Farah’s most recent directorial venture with Shah Rukh was Happy New Year in 2014. In the same interview, she shared that following that film, she took a break from direction, as she struggled to find a project that excited her. However, she expressed her desire to return to filmmaking when the right project presents itself at the right time.
On Shah Rukh’s front, he is currently busy with King, his upcoming film that will also star his daughter Suhana Khan, alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Earlier reports suggested that King would be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, but it has since been confirmed that Siddharth Anand, the director of SRK’s 2023 blockbuster Pathaan, will helm the project.
