A viral video showing a man dressed in a tattered, caveman-like outfit roaming the streets of Mumbai has sparked speculation online, with many questioning whether the person in the clip was Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. However, the actor’s team has now issued a clarification, confirming that the rumours are false.
A source close to Aamir stated, “The man roaming the streets of Mumbai in a caveman-like costume is not Aamir Khan. Kindly do not believe any such statements, as all of them are false.”
What’s in the video?
The widely circulated clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows a man walking barefoot in the middle of a busy road, pushing a cart, rummaging through plastic items, and glancing around. Dressed in a rugged brown outfit with long hair and a thick beard, the person bore a slight resemblance to Aamir, leading to speculation that it was either a promotional stunt or part of an upcoming project.
How the internet reacted
Social media was flooded with reactions to the clip, with fans debating its authenticity. One user asked, “Is that Aamir Khan? Is it some promotion?” while another wrote, “Doesn’t look like Aamir though.” Some even criticised the unidentified man, with one comment reading, “Why is he disturbing people in public places?”
The confusion stemmed from Aamir Khan’s recent appearance in an advertisement where he sported a similar caveman-inspired look. In the ad, he was seen dancing with a group of other “cavepeople” after enjoying a beverage. Additionally, behind-the-scenes images from the shoot, showing Aamir in costume near a mirror, further fuelled speculation.
What’s next for Aamir Khan?
Aamir Khan is currently gearing up for his next film, Sitaare Zameen Par, which will see him reunite with Taare Zameen Par star Darsheel Safary alongside Genelia Deshmukh. The film is slated for a 2025 theatrical release.
Additionally, Aamir is producing Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and starring Sunny Deol. His last big-screen appearance was in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), a remake of Forrest Gump, where he starred alongside Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya, and Mona Singh.
While the viral video may have briefly caused a stir, fans can rest assured—Aamir Khan is not wandering the streets of Mumbai as a caveman.
