The much-awaited sequel to the 2018 black comedy crime thriller A Simple Favor is finally making headlines again. Another Simple Favor, starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, has just revealed its premiere date, sending waves of excitement across social media.

Blake Lively took to her official social media accounts today to share that the sequel will have its premiere at the prestigious SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 7, 2025, at the iconic Paramount Theatre. Following the festival debut, Another Simple Favor will be available globally on Prime Video starting 1 May, 2025.

For those unfamiliar with the story, the original A Simple Favor centres around Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick), a widowed mother who runs a craft and recipe vlog. She becomes friends with Emily (Blake Lively), a glamorous PR director, whose mysterious disappearance sets off a whirlwind of twists and turns. The investigation reveals secrets about Emily’s life, leading to shocking revelations.

In the sequel, Another Simple Favor, the action moves to an idyllic island in Capri, Italy, where Emily is about to marry an affluent Italian businessman. As Stephanie gets dragged back into Emily’s enigmatic world of lies and betrayal, she uncovers even more shocking truths about her friend’s life.

This exciting release coincides with Lively’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends with Us co-director Justin Baldoni. In December 2024, Blake filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni. Since then, Baldoni has filed an updated lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The ongoing legal dispute is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.

Despite the legal pressure, Lively continues to press ahead with her career, with Another Simple Favor poised to be a major highlight in 2025. Fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of the thrilling story with the dynamic duo of Lively and Kendrick.
