Meghan Markle has shared a touching video revealing how she reached out to Billie Eilish to bring comfort to a young fan devastated by the recent LA wildfires. The Duchess of Sussex’s act of kindness follows the catastrophic fires that forced nearly 180,000 people to evacuate their homes, leaving historic areas in smoke and resulting in several fatalities.
In an Instagram video, Meghan recounted how she visited a mother and daughter whose home had been completely destroyed in the fires. The daughter, who had just attended a Billie Eilish concert, was heartbroken when her prized Billie Eilish T-shirt was lost in the blaze.
Meghan, moved by the situation, shared her determination to help. “I said, ‘Well, I don’t know Billie Eilish but I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt,'” she told her followers.
The former royal reached out to her network, eventually getting in touch with Billie Eilish herself. The result was a heartwarming surprise for the young fan: a box full of signed Billie Eilish merchandise, including a unique blue lunchbox with a gold star. “You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means but it’s signed for her,” Meghan said, revealing the thoughtful gift.
Meghan expressed her gratitude towards Billie Eilish for making the moment possible and acknowledged the importance of continuing support for those impacted by the wildfires. “Thanks to everyone who made this possible but most importantly, thank you to our first responders who are the community’s real heroes,” Meghan wrote in her video caption.
The wildfires have wreaked havoc across California, leaving many high-profile celebrities, including Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, and Billy Crystal, to deal with the destruction of their homes. The fires also led Meghan to delay the launch of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
