Shweta Tiwari, known for her powerful performances that balance grace and grit, recently revealed a memorable moment from the sets of Prime Video’s upcoming series Do You Wanna Partner, which pushed her into uncharted territory.

Over the years, Tiwari has portrayed strong leads and emotional pillars, but stepping into the skin of her character Laila required a rawness she had not faced before. In one intense scene, she was asked to deliver a full-throated “gaali”, a moment that left her visibly shaken and struggling to perform.

Recalling the incident, Tiwari said, “There was a moment when I had to deliver a scene with strong language, I had to abuse, say a proper ‘gaali’ and honestly, I was shaking. I just couldn’t get myself to do it. I kept trying, but somehow it just wasn’t coming out. That’s when Tamannaah came over. She held my hand and started shouting that one word out loud with me, pushing me to let go and feel the moment. She kept saying, ‘Say it, ma’am, say it!’ She didn’t have to do that, but she did anyway and that moment of pure support and sisterhood, I’ll never forget. It was truly special for me.”

The series, produced under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta as producers, is directed by Archit Kumar and Collin D’Cunha. The writing team includes Nandini Gupta, Aarsh Vora, and Mithun Gangopadhyay, who also co-created the series with Nishant Nayak. Executive producers are Somen Mishra and Archit Kumar.

Do You Wanna Partner stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty in lead roles, alongside Shweta Tiwari, Jaaved Jaaferi, Nakuul Mehta, Neeraj Kabi, Sufi Motiwala, and Rannvijay Singha.

Do You wanna Partner will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and across 240 countries and territories worldwide on 12 September.
