The winners of the National Film Awards had been announced in August, with Shah Rukh Khan named Best Actor in a Leading Role. At the time, he shared an emotional message of gratitude for his fans, colleagues, team, and family.
“Thank you for honouring me with the National Award. Thanks to the jury, the I&B Ministry. Iss samman ke liye Bharat Sarkar ka dhanyawaad. Overwhelmed with the love showered upon me. Half a hug to everyone today…” he said.
Expressing humility and pride, the 59-year-old actor added: “To be honoured with the National Award is a moment I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury, the chairman, and to the I&B Ministry, and to everyone who thought I was worthy of this honour.”
He went on to thank his entire Jawan team and management: “They bear with my eccentricities and impatience, yet give me their full attention, making me look far better than I am. This award would not be possible without their love and perseverance.”
He also acknowledged the steadfast support of his family: “My wife and children, who in recent years have given me so much love and care, as though I am the child in the house, wanting only the best for me. They know my obsession with cinema takes me away from them, but they endure it with a smile and allow me the time.”
With Jawan, Shah Rukh made a triumphant return in 2023, portraying a dual role with action, emotion, and intensity. The film went on to become one of the year’s biggest blockbusters, with his performance deeply resonating with audiences.
