Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has officially entered the billionaire’s club, cementing his position as the world’s richest entertainer.
According to the Hurun India Rich List 2025, released on October 1, the 59-year-old “Badshah of Bollywood” now holds a staggering net worth of £1.04 billion (INR 12,490 crore).
With this milestone, Khan surpasses global pop sensation Taylor Swift, who became a billionaire last year with a net worth of $1.3 billion, largely driven by the record-breaking success of The Eras Tour. Swift made history as the first musician to achieve billionaire status solely through music sales.
In India, Shah Rukh Khan continues to reign as the country’s wealthiest actor, further widening the wealth gap between him and other film stars.
“Khan’s billionaire status is driven mainly by his stakes in Red Chillies Entertainment and Knight Riders Sports,” said Anas Rahman Junaid, founder and chief researcher of Hurun India, in an interview with the BBC.
Founded in 2002, Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment has backed several major hits, including Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, Jawan, and the recent web series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, directed by his son Aryan Khan. His ownership of the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL franchise has also been a major contributor to his rising fortune.
Beyond films and business ventures, Khan’s income streams include brand endorsements, film earnings, and reported investments in luxury real estate across the globe.
With this historic achievement, Shah Rukh Khan not only secures his legacy as Bollywood’s “King Khan” but also as the wealthiest entertainer.
