Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman unveiled the 2026 Oscar nominees on 22 January at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.
It’s been a winning award season for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which sank its teeth into the competition with 16 nominations at the 15 March ceremony, including Best Picture, Best Directing and Michael B. Jordan’s Best Actor in a Leading Role. The vampire horror proved its weight in gold, earning the most Oscar nominations ever, besting Titanic and La La Land’s 14 nods, respectively.
Meanwhile, Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another earned 13 nominations at the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Best Actor in a Leading Role and Teyana Taylor’s Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
And Marty Supreme may be turning in table tennis paddles for some sparkling trophies. The film earned nine nods, including Best Picture and Original Screenplay. And Timothée Chalamet is going head-to-head with Leonardo, Michael, The Secret Agent’s Wagner Moura and Blue Moon star Ethan Hawke.
For Timothée, bringing Marty Mauser to life had proven to be a golden decision. After all, the 30-year-old’s latest nomination follows his win for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the 2026 Golden Globes and Best Actor at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards earlier this year.
