A release date has been confirmed for Bandar, the hard-hitting drama led by Bobby Deol and directed by Anurag Kashyap.
The film will arrive in cinemas worldwide on 5 June 2025, with production backed by Zee Studios and producer Nikhil Dwivedi. Inspired by true events, Bandar has already generated early buzz following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it drew attention from critics and audiences.
Penned by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee—known for acclaimed titles such as Paatal Lok, Kohrra and Udta Punjab—the film promises a gritty narrative in keeping with Kashyap’s signature style, seen in works like Gangs of Wasseypur and Black Friday.
Alongside Deol, the ensemble cast features Sanya Malhotra, Raj B Shetty, Jitendra Joshi, Sapna Pabbi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Riddhi Sen, Saba Azad and Nagesh Bhosle.
The project marks another significant outing for Deol, who continues to expand his repertoire after a career spanning more than three decades. He was last seen in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and is set to appear next in Jana Nayagan alongside Vijay, as well as the anticipated spy thriller Alpha, which also stars Alia Bhatt.
With its festival credentials and a strong creative team, Bandar is shaping up to be one of the more compelling releases of the summer slate.
