Ajay with son Yug Devgn - team up for Karate Kid Legends

In a landmark collaboration, Sony Pictures Entertainment India has brought together Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and his son, Yug Devgn, for their first-ever on-screen project — lending their voices to the Hindi version of Karate Kid: Legends.

The much-anticipated film is set to release in cinemas across India on 30 May in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Ajay lends his voice to the iconic role of Mr Han, portrayed by Jackie Chan, while Yug makes his voice acting debut as the film’s young protagonist, Li Fong — originally played by Ben Wang.

Sharing the news on social media, the film’s makers wrote: “The master has a new voice. So does the student! Ajay Devgn & Yug Devgn are all set to bring Jackie Chan & Ben Wang’s epic journey to life in #KarateKidLegends (Hindi). Kick into action with the Hindi trailer dropping soon.”

Set in New York City, Karate Kid: Legends follows kung fu prodigy Li Fong as he navigates a new school, forms unlikely friendships, and faces a climactic showdown with a local karate champion. Under the mentorship of Mr Han and the legendary Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Li embarks on a transformative journey of courage, resilience, and growth.

This project marks Ajay Devgn’s first-ever voiceover for an international film and introduces 13-year-old Yug to the world of cinema, bringing youthful energy to a globally loved franchise.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn was last seen on screen reprising his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik in Raid 2, which also stars Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor. The film, released on 1 May 2025, follows Patnaik’s 75th high-stakes raid, targeting corrupt politician Manohar Dhankar, alias Dada Manohar Bhai (played by Deshmukh).

Raid 2 has been a box office success, emerging as the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025.
