0

The sixth instalment in the Insidious franchise has officially been titled Insidious: Out of the Further, with the makers also confirming the release date of its first trailer. The trailer for the long-running horror series’ next chapter is set to debut today (13 April).

Filming on the project, which was first announced in May 2024, reportedly began in late September 2025 and wrapped several months later.

The film’s title was unveiled through an unconventional marketing stunt at a public event in Los Angeles. Performers dressed in white and red, with smeared facial make-up, arranged themselves into formations to spell out the title Out of the Further, creating a striking visual reveal.

Insidious: Out of the Further is scheduled to premiere in the United States on 21 August 2026. The film was originally set for release on 29 August 2025 but was later removed from the schedule. It was previously known under the working title Insidious: The Bleeding World.

Production wrapped in November 2025, as confirmed by writer-director Jacob Chase, who shared the update on Instagram while thanking the cast and crew for their efforts.

According to the official synopsis, “A trio of stalkers infiltrate a quiet suburb and force a new family into the astral plane, where they uncover a terrifying truth: the Further is bleeding into the real world.”

In addition to writing and directing, Chase co-developed the story with David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. The film is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, alongside James Wan for Atomic Monster, with Oren Peli and Leigh Whannell also serving as producers. Distribution is being handled by Sony Pictures Releasing.

The cast includes Amelia Eve, Island Austin, Sam Spruell, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Laura Gordon. Lin Shaye also returns, reprising her role as Elise Rainier from earlier instalments.

Earlier rumours suggested that the sixth film might mark the end of the franchise. However, Shaye dismissed the speculation in a post on Facebook, clarifying that it would not be her final appearance and stating: “We are just getting started.”

Insidious: Out of the Further is set to release in cinema on 21 August 2026.

Is Shahid Kapoor set to replace Tovino Thomas in Jr NTR’s NTRNeel (Dragon)?

0

NTRNeel (Dragon), starring Jr NTR in the lead, is currently in production under the direction of Prashanth Neel. Fresh reports now suggest that Shahid Kapoor may join the film as its primary antagonist, replacing Tovino Thomas.

According to Telugu Chitraalu, Kapoor is in discussions with the makers and is being considered for the key negative role following Thomas’s reported exit from the project. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the casting so far.

Thomas was previously expected to feature in the upcoming Telugu action film but recently confirmed that he opted out due to scheduling conflicts with his Malayalam commitments.

The film was initially slated for a theatrical release on 25 June 2026, though it now appears likely to miss that date. A revised release schedule is yet to be announced. While the full cast has not been officially revealed, Rukmini Vasanth is expected to play the female lead, with Anil Kapoor reportedly taking on a pivotal role.

Jr NTR was last seen in a prominent role in War 2, alongside Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film is a sequel to the 2019 hit War and forms part of the expanding YRF Spy Universe. The ensemble cast also includes Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Varun Badola, among others, and is currently available to stream on Netflix.

Looking ahead, Jr NTR will next be seen in NTRNeel, for which he has reportedly undergone a significant physical transformation.

Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor was most recently seen leading O’Romeo, co-starring Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani.

He is next set to appear alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in Cocktail 2, a standalone sequel scheduled for release on 19 June 2026.

Triptii Dimri becomes Victoria’s Secret’s first Indian brand ambassador

0

Bollywood actor Triptii Dimri has reached a significant global milestone in her career, becoming the first Indian brand ambassador for Victoria’s Secret, the American fashion label.

The announcement, made on 9 April 2026, places Dimri at the forefront of the brand’s new Summer Signature campaign, positioning her as the face of its evolving identity in India and beyond.

With this appointment, Dimri becomes the first Indian celebrity to officially represent Victoria’s Secret in an ambassadorial capacity. While Indian-origin models have previously walked in the brand’s fashion shows, no Indian actor or public figure has held a formal ambassadorial role with the label until now.

The collaboration also signals a broader shift in the brand’s positioning, which in recent years has embraced themes of confidence, individuality and inclusivity. Dimri leads the Summer Signature campaign, which highlights relaxed sleepwear designs centred on both comfort and style.

The campaign further underscores Victoria’s Secret’s growing focus on the Indian market, with Dimri serving as a cultural bridge in this expansion.

Speaking about the partnership, Dimri described the moment as deeply personal and meaningful, calling it a “dream come true” and a defining milestone in her journey. She also noted that the brand’s evolving definition of beauty strongly resonates with her, particularly its emphasis on confidence, authenticity and embracing every version of oneself.

Beyond a personal achievement, Dimri’s appointment is being seen as part of a wider cultural shift in the global fashion industry. While representation of South Asian talent has gradually increased in recent years, particularly through runway appearances and international beauty campaigns, formal ambassadorial roles with established Western brands have remained relatively limited.

In this context, Dimri’s new role may help pave the way for greater opportunities for Indian actors, models and creatives to gain visibility and recognition on the global fashion stage.

Asha Bhosle, legendary voice of Indian cinema, dies aged 92

0

Asha Bhosle, one of the most enduring and versatile voices in Indian film music, has died at the age of 92. The veteran singer passed away on Sunday at Breach Candy Hospital following cardiac and respiratory complications that led to multi-organ failure.

Widely regarded as one of the last living legends of Indian playback singing, Bhosle’s career spanned more than seven decades, during which she captivated audiences in India and across the world. Her passing marks the end of an era in Hindi cinema’s golden musical tradition.

Born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli, Maharashtra, Asha Bhosle was the third daughter of classical vocalist Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. She began her musical journey at an early age, recording her first song, Chala Chala Nav Bala, at just 10 years old.

Her early years in the industry were marked by struggle, with initial chorus songs in Hindi films such as Chunariya (1948) and Andhon Ki Duniya. Her first solo Hindi playback came with Raat Ki Rani (1949), signalling the start of what would become an extraordinary career.

Bhosle’s breakthrough came through her celebrated collaboration with composer O.P. Nayyar, beginning with Naya Daur (1957). Their partnership produced a string of hits, culminating in the iconic Chain se humko kabhi aapne jeene na diya from Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye (1974), a song that earned her a Filmfare Award despite not being picturised in the film.

Her later collaboration with music director R.D. Burman, whom she married, further cemented her legacy. Together, they redefined playback singing with a modern, experimental sound that appealed to younger audiences while retaining classical depth.

Beyond Indian cinema, Bhosle’s voice resonated on the global stage through a series of notable international collaborations. In the early 1990s, she worked with British pop icon Boy George on Bow Down Mister, alongside musician Stephen Lauscombe. In 1997, at the age of 64, she recorded a love song with the boy band Code Red, reflecting her continued relevance across generations.

Her global reach expanded further with The Way You Dream, recorded with Michael Stipe for the project 1 Giant Leap, later featured in the film Bulletproof Monk and released in 2002. That same decade saw British band Cornershop pay tribute to her enduring influence with Brimful of Asha, an international hit remixed by Fatboy Slim. Her influence extended into contemporary pop, with a remix version of Nelly Furtado’s I’m Like a Bird incorporating her vocals.

In 2003, British soprano Sarah Brightman sampled Bhosle’s Dil Cheez Kya Hai for her album Harem. Two years later, the American Kronos Quartet collaborated with Bhosle on You’ve Stolen My Heart: Songs from R.D. Burman’s Bollywood, a project that earned a Grammy nomination and showcased her ability to reinterpret classics with remarkable vitality well into her later years.

Her work continued to intersect with global popular culture. The Black Eyed Peas sampled her songs in their hit Don’t Phunk with My Heart, while in 2006 she collaborated with Australian cricketer Brett Lee on You’re the One for Me, which charted internationally. She also lent her voice to Pakistani cinema with Dil Key Taar Bajey, alongside Jawad Ahmed.

Even in her later years, Bhosle remained artistically active. In 2026, she featured on British virtual band Gorillaz’s ninth studio album The Mountain, appearing on the track The Shadowy Light, underscoring a career that continually evolved across decades and borders.

Bhosle’s extraordinary contribution to music was recognised with numerous accolades over her lifetime. She was among the very few Indian artists to receive Grammy Award nominations, including at the 39th Grammy Awards in 1997 for Legacy, a collaboration with Ali Akbar Khan, and again at the 48th Grammy Awards in 2006 for You’ve Stolen My Heart: Songs from R.D. Burman’s Bollywood in the Best Contemporary World Music Album category.

In 2011, the Guinness World Records formally acknowledged Bhosle as the most recorded artist in music history. The honour was presented at The Asian Awards, where she received a certificate from Sebastian Coe recognising her recording of up to 11,000 songs — including solos, duets and chorus pieces — in more than 20 Indian languages since 1947. At the same ceremony, she was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Known for her remarkable versatility, Bhosle lent her voice to thousands of songs across multiple languages and genres, ranging from classical and ghazals to cabaret numbers and pop-inspired tracks. Her ability to adapt to changing musical trends ensured her relevance across generations.

Tributes have poured in from across the music and film industries, with many describing her as an irreplaceable voice and a cultural icon whose influence transcended borders.

Her final rites will be held at Shivaji Park on Monday at 4.00pm, with full state honours.

Asha Bhosle leaves behind a towering musical legacy that will continue to inspire artists and audiences for generations to come.

Asian Sunday & Style offers deepest condolences to family, fans and well wishers.

Hans Zimmer steps in for Euphoria Season 3 soundtrack as Labrinth exits

0

Singer and composer Labrinth will not be featured on the music for Season 3 of Euphoria, with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer taking charge of the music on his own, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.

According to the publication, there were reports earlier that Zimmer and Labrinth would work together for the show. However, speculation grew last month after Labrinth shared a strong message online, where he slammed both the show and his record label. The post was later deleted, but it raised questions about his involvement.

Labrinth had played a big role in shaping the sound of Euphoria in its first two seasons. His music became closely linked with the show’s mood and storytelling. Songs like “Forever,” “Still Don’t Know My Name,” and “I Never Felt So Alone,” which featured Billie Eilish, were widely loved. The last track also received a Grammy nomination.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hans Zimmer had earlier spoken about working on the series and had praised Labrinth’s work, saying that he helped shape the show’s identity. Now, Zimmer will handle the music for the upcoming season on his own.

Meanwhile, Labrinth is set to perform at Coachella, while Euphoria Season 3 is gearing up for its release, with a special screening planned at the festival as well.

Lady Gaga and Doechii drop fashion anthem ‘Runway’ for ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’

0

Lady Gaga and Doechii have released a new collaborative single titled ‘Runway,’ an upbeat dance track that arrives as part of the soundtrack for the upcoming 20th Century Fox film ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2.’

The release brings together two of contemporary pop’s most distinctive voices on a fashion-forward anthem built around confidence, performance, and self-expression.

The track, ‘Runway,’ features Doechii delivering playful, high-energy verses, including the line, “Serve a little sass, with a little side of ass, do a little twirl.”

As per Variety, Lady Gaga contributes vocals that lean into empowerment and freedom, singing, “I’m feeling fab, I’m feeling free, I feel exceptionally.”

The chorus sees both artists come together on the central hook: “Monday through Sunday, can turn the dancefloor into a runway.”

The song closes with an outro that repeatedly emphasises its core message, as the duo chants, “You were born for the runway.”

The single blends pop and dance influences, positioning itself as a celebratory anthem tied closely to the film’s fashion-centric narrative.

The production of ‘Runway’ brings together a high-profile creative team. The track is co-produced by Andrew Watt, Bruno Mars, Cirkut, and Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II.

Watt also co-wrote the song alongside Gaga, Mars, Doechii, Cirkut, D’Mile, and Jayda Love, forming a collaborative lineup that spans multiple genres and songwriting backgrounds.

The release also highlights the ongoing professional rapport between Gaga and Doechii.

Last year, Doechii presented Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, during which she spoke about feeling like an outsider growing up and finding identity through alternative artistic expression, as per Variety.

The mutual admiration continued into 2025 when Gaga, in an earlier interview, praised Doechii’s artistry, saying, “The power in her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymes with this wild mix of audacity and emotional precision, it struck me to the core,” quoted by Variety.

The single was first previewed in the final trailer for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2,’ further linking the song to the film’s promotional rollout.

Gaga is also set to make a cameo appearance in the sequel film, which continues the story from the 2006 original.

The narrative follows Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) as she navigates a shifting media landscape where print journalism is in decline. Her character later confronts Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), now a powerful executive in the luxury sector.

Outside of her film involvement, Lady Gaga is currently on tour and nearing the conclusion of her Mayhem Ball tour. Her final scheduled performance is set for Monday in New York at Madison Square Garden.
