Vijay Deverakonda’s wedding jewellery becomes a buzz online

0

Vijay Deverakonda’s handmade jewellery for his wedding to Rashmika Mandanna has become one of the most talked-about aspects of the royal celebration online. The couple’s wedding was elevated by jewellery designs that followed a strong theme: Vijay as a mighty king and Rashmika as a living goddess, heavily influenced by the architecture of South Indian temples.

Deverakonda’s jewellery marked a departure from the current trend of minimal groom styling, bringing men’s jewellery to the forefront. The pieces worn are deeply rooted in Indian tradition, historically associated with kings, warriors, and gods depicted in Indian art and mythology. Such jewellery is also integral to classical Indian weddings, particularly in South India, North India, and Rajasthan, reflecting royal aesthetics.

The actor’s traditional wedding jewellery drew inspiration from historical and cultural motifs, custom-made in gold with significant symbolic and aesthetic value, rather than following Western minimalist styles.

Fans were quick to react on social media, praising his look. One user wrote, “He looks divine! Loved the necklaces, kadas, gold earrings. Very mythological, very Indian, absolutely loving this look. He literally set the template for grooms.” Another added, “He totally nailed it. Def a new standard for groom fashion, love the confidence too.”

Fans debate over star business ventures vs film careers as Karan Johar opens up

0

Filmmaker Karan Johar has sparked discussion over the growing role of business ventures in Bollywood, suggesting that actors’ entrepreneurial pursuits are increasingly lucrative.

In a recent interview, Johar highlighted that Shah Rukh Khan’s ownership of his IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is “more profitable than most of his movie ventures,” adding that Khan is personally involved in the team’s operations rather than merely lending his name.

Johar noted that this trend of actors actively running businesses is becoming a major revenue source beyond films. Fan reaction on social media has been divided: some praise stars as savvy entrepreneurs securing long-term income streams, while others worry that film projects are no longer the main priority, with careers increasingly tied to ventures such as sports franchises or product lines.

In another comment, Johar also pointed out that many actors frequently switch management, raising questions about loyalty. Fans have linked this observation to the broader debate, suggesting that contemporary actors are increasingly chasing opportunities beyond cinema, including equity deals and brand stakes, rather than focusing on long-term film projects.

The discussion has reignited questions around the balance between business growth and film craft, with observers asking: “Are actors prioritising business over cinema?” and “Does chasing money dilute cinematic choices?”

Spirit: Sandeep Reddy Vanga unveils first look of Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Desai

0

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga continues to strategically build momentum around his upcoming pan-India actioner Spirit, headlined by Prabhas.

On 26 February, Vanga sparked anticipation by announcing he would drop a major update within 90 minutes. True to his word, the director revealed the first look of actor Vivek Oberoi and debutant Aishwarya Desai, adding fresh intrigue to the much-anticipated project.

Sources indicate that both Oberoi and Desai play pivotal roles in the film, which also stars Baahubali lead Prabhas and Animal breakout Triptii Dimri.

The newly released poster leans into a dark and brooding aesthetic, presenting Oberoi and Desai in intense, edgy avatars, hinting at the film’s high-stakes narrative and gritty tone.

Dimri stepped into the project after Deepika Padukone, who was initially expected to star opposite Prabhas, exited the film.

Filming for the Vanga directorial began in December last year and is progressing steadily. The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on 5 March, 2027.

While plot details remain tightly under wraps, industry speculation suggests that Prabhas will portray an angry young police officer taking on a formidable mafia syndicate, setting the stage for an intense action drama.

Adding to the industry buzz, reports suggest that Trivikram Srinivas and Ravi Teja’s sons, Rishie Manoj and Mahadhan Bhupathiraju, are part of the assistant directors’ team.

Mounted as a large-scale entertainer, Spirit will release in eight languages. The film is backed by T-Series Films and Bhadrakali Pictures.

Written, edited and directed by Vanga, the project is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga.

With its steady stream of updates and a star-driven cast, Spirit continues to dominate conversation as one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated releases.

Spider-Verse gets “fresh reboot” as Sony plans new faces and animated Venom

0

Swinging into exciting new territory, the beloved ‘Spider-Man’ universe is gearing up for expansion, promising fans more of those web-slinging adventures.

Sony Pictures chairman and CEO Tom Rothman has confirmed the studio’s plans for a “fresh reboot” to the Spider-Man extended universe of spinoffs, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Noting that the “larger Spider-Verse” is not over yet, Rothman suggested that there will be a fresh reboot with new faces.

“Scarcity has value … you got to make the audience miss you,” he teased.

During the conversation, the Sony Pictures CEO also confirmed that Tom Holland’s starrer ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ was banned in China over the film’s climax set at the Statue of Liberty.

“You say, ‘USD 1.9 billion, what’s wrong with 2?’ Well, it didn’t get into China, but in my mind the film’s box office is over 2 billion because I know what we would have done in China,” he shared.

Notably, the live-action ‘Spider-Man’ universe films were launched with 2018’s hit release ‘Venom’, which became a big hit with USD 856 million globally.

Further releases came with 2022’s ‘Morbius’, 2024’s ‘Madame Web’ and 2024’s ‘Kraven the Hunter’.

Meanwhile, ‘Venom,’ the symbiote supervillian who became a favourite Spider-Man baddie, will appear in an animated film from ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, reported Variety.

Tom Hardy, who played Eddie Brock and his be-fanged counterpart in three live-action “Venom” movies, will be involved in the project, according to a studio source, as quoted by Variety.

The project is in the early stages of development, so a lot could change.

Sony Pictures, which controls the rights to “Venom” through its licensing deal with Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, will produce the picture through Sony Pictures Animation.

The division scored with previous animated web-spinner adventures such as ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’

A third film, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” is expected to debut in cinemas in 2027.
