Actor Paul Ritter, who is best known for his work on Channel 4’s ‘Friday Night Dinner’, has sadly passed away age 54. It was confirmed by his agent that the actor passed away from a brain tumour on Monday (March 5). Ritter was said to have passed away at home with his family by his side.
Ritter has appeared in many projects over the years. The actor appeared in Harry Potter and the ‘Half-Blood Prince’ and ‘Quantam of Solace’. He is best known for his work on the Channel 4 comedy ‘Friday Night Dinner’ in which he played Martin, the fatherly figure of the show.
“It is with great sadness we can confirm that Paul Ritter passed away last night. He died peacefully at home with his wife Polly and sons Frank and Noah by his side. He was 54 and had been suffering from a brain tumour, stated his agent.
“Paul was an exceptionally talented actor playing an enormous variety of roles on stage and screen with extraordinary skill. He was fiercely intelligent, kind and very funny. We will miss him greatly.”
Ritter is set to appear in the Friday Night Dinner retrospective which is set to release on Channel 4 later this year to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the programme.
