Prime Video has announced that Songs of Paradise, a moving and valiant film inspired by the life of Padma Shri awardee Raj Begum, will premiere on 29 August in India and in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
Presented by Excel Entertainment and produced by Apple Tree Pictures and Renzu Films, the film celebrates the extraordinary journey of Kashmir’s first prominent female playback singer. It highlights her resilience, courage, and pioneering spirit, which inspired women in the region and created a cultural movement in the music industry.
Directed and co-written by Danish Renzu, alongside Niranjan Iyengar and Sunayana Kachroo, Songs of Paradise features Saba Azad and Soni Razdan portraying the lead role of Noor Begum in two different stages of her life. The film also stars Zain Khan Durrani, Sheeba Chaddha, Taaruk Raina, and Lillete Dubey. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kashmir valley, the story blends music, defiance, and the indomitable spirit of its protagonist.
