With less than a month to go before its theatrical release, Junglee Pictures has dropped the powerful Faceoff Poster for its upcoming courtroom drama, HAQ – starring Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi in an intense ideological battle that pits belief against justice.
The striking poster captures a raw confrontation between two formidable forces, perfectly setting the tone for one of this year’s most thought-provoking cinematic releases. HAQ delves deep into the collision between personal faith and constitutional law, posing a question that cuts to the heart of modern India – Kaum ya Kanoon? (Community or Law?)
Directed by Suparn S Varma and written by Reshu Nath, HAQ draws inspiration from the landmark Supreme Court judgement in Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum, offering a fictionalised reimagining of the events based on Bano: Bharat Ki Beti by journalist Jigna Vora.
Led by stellar performances from Yami Gautam Dhar and Emraan Hashmi, HAQ promises to be a timely and emotionally charged courtroom drama that navigates the turbulent intersection of belief systems and the rule of law. The film also features accomplished actors Sheeba Chadha, Danish Hussain, Vartika Singh, and Aseem Hattangady, adding further depth to this socially resonant narrative.
Produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, HAQ stands as a bold exploration of one woman’s fight for her rights and dignity, a story that continues to echo in today’s conversations on equality and justice.
HAQ releases in cinemas on 7 November 2025.
