The much-anticipated Tamil-language romantic comedy Kadhalikka Neramillai, starring Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen, is all set to hit cinemas on 14 January. The official announcement was made on social media, with the makers revealing the release date along with new looks from the film. The caption accompanying the post reads, “The more you resist, the more you’ll fall in love! Kadhalikka Neramillai releasing in cinemas on January 14th, 2025.”
Directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, the film marks her first feature film venture after directing the web series Paper Rocket. Udhayanidhi is married to Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Kadhalikka Neramillai features an ensemble cast including Yogi Babu, Vinay Rai, John Kokken, and Lal in key roles. It also marks Jayam Ravi’s thirty third film, where he collaborates with Nithya Menen for the first time.
Music for the film is composed by the legendary AR Rahman, with tracks like “Yennai Izhukkuthadi” and “Lavender Neramae” already unveiled to great anticipation.
Apart from this romantic comedy, Jayam Ravi has several other exciting projects in the pipeline. He is set to play a pivotal role in Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film, tentatively titled SK25, directed by Sudha Kongara. The film, which marks the first collaboration between Kongara and both Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi, is expected to feature Jayam Ravi as the main antagonist. It is said to be a revival of Kongara and Suriya’s shelved project, tentatively called Suriya 43 or Puranaanooru, which was originally announced to reunite Kongara and Suriya after their success with Soorarai Pottru (2020).
In addition to Kadhalikka Neramillai and SK25, Jayam Ravi also stars in the fantasy comedy Genie alongside Krithi Shetty, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Furthermore, he has another untitled film, named JR34, awaiting release.
