“I never thought I would live to see a day where fires would ravage neighbourhoods around us in LA,” she wrote. “Friends & families either evacuated or put on high alert, ash descending from smoggy skies like snow & fear & uncertainty about what will happen if the wind does not calm down with toddlers and grandparents with us. I’m heartbroken at the devastation around us and grateful to God that we are safe as of now.”

Preity’s message echoes sentiments shared by Priyanka Chopra, who took to Instagram Stories to acknowledge the bravery of first responders battling the crisis. Sharing a post depicting the efforts of emergency teams, Priyanka wrote: “A huge shoutout to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to help families affected.”

The actress had previously shared footage of the wildfire consuming parts of Los Angeles, highlighting the terrifying scale of the disaster.

Similarly, actress Nora Fatehi shared her harrowing experience of being forced to evacuate the area. In a video posted online, Nora recounted the chaos as evacuation orders were issued:

“Hey guys, I’m in Los Angeles, and the wildfires are crazy. I’ve never seen anything like this. We just got an evacuation order like five minutes ago, so I quickly packed my stuff and am evacuating. I’m heading to the airport and hoping my flight doesn’t get cancelled. This is scary. I’ve never experienced anything like this before – just uncontrollable fires.”

The massive blaze, which erupted on 7 January 2025, has forced over 30,000 residents to evacuate their homes. California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles as fire crews continue their relentless efforts to contain the inferno.

The wildfires have destroyed thousands of acres of land, causing widespread damage and leaving many uncertain about the safety of their homes. Emergency services remain on high alert as weather conditions persist, fuelling fears of further destruction.

The community and celebrities alike continue to express their solidarity with the victims and their gratitude to the emergency responders risking their lives to combat the flames.
