Hina Khan has garnered widespread support and attention for candidly sharing her cancer journey on social media. However, in a recent interview with News18, actor and model Rozlyn Khan, herself a stage 4 cancer survivor, has accused Hina of exaggerating her condition and using her treatment for publicity.
Rozlyn expressed doubts over Hina’s claims, specifically questioning her account of a 15-hour surgery. “Fifteen hours of mastectomy is impossible. She is exaggerating it. My surgery was 8 to 10 hours long because I was at stage four, and my 16 lymph nodes were removed. It was a major surgery. In fact, she (Hina Khan) only said her surgery went for 15 hours. Which surgery is she talking about? She did not give details if it was MRM or what?” Rozlyn said.
She also criticised Hina for her frequent travels, suggesting that such activities could set a misleading example for other cancer patients. “Cancer patients are advised to stay away from the crowd during chemotherapy. Patients can get into trouble if they follow her,” Rozlyn remarked.
The criticism didn’t stop there. Rozlyn accused Hina of prioritising self-promotion over providing clarity about her medical treatment. “She talks about herself rather than the treatments she is taking. She is keeping everything in the dark. I doubt if she is at stage 3. Every interview or byte she gives revolves around herself or her bravery,” Rozlyn said.
Highlighting the potential dangers of misinformation, Rozlyn pointed out the lack of legal repercussions in India for spreading false claims about medical procedures. “There is no law for spreading misinformation about any medical procedure or treatment in India, and people are misusing it,” she added.
Hina Khan first revealed her battle with cancer in 2024 and has since shared updates about her condition with her fans. Her openness about her journey has inspired many, but Rozlyn’s allegations now raise questions about the accuracy of her claims.
While Rozlyn Khan’s comments have sparked debate, Hina Khan has yet to respond to the accusations.
