Tom Cruise made Super Bowl Sunday even more exciting by releasing a fresh teaser for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The new clip sees the actor back to his high-flying antics, once again hanging off an airplane in typical Ethan Hunt fashion.

The teaser opens with Ethan sprinting through a forest as the sun rises, before diving into water and, of course, clinging to the side of a flying airplane. He’s joined by Vanessa Kirby and Hayley Atwell, marking another thrilling chapter in the action-packed series.

Cruise recently revealed just how intense the stunt was, sharing that during one crucial scene where he had to hang upside down from a plane at 10,000 feet, he frequently passed out due to a lack of oxygen. Despite the physical toll, he trained to manage his breathing while performing the daredevil sequence.

Known for executing jaw-dropping stunts, Cruise has also filmed action-packed scenes involving a speeding train, skydiving, and even scaling the Burj Khalifa. But it was this particular sequence with a 1930s Boeing Stearman biplane that truly tested his limits.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Cruise explained, “When you stick your face out, going over 120 to 130 miles an hour, you’re not getting oxygen. So I had to train myself how to breathe. There were times I would pass out physically; I was unable to get back into the cockpit.”

The behind-the-scenes video, shared by Cruise on his social media, shows him preparing for this breath-taking stunt, with a caption simply reading “Hang on.”

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning reunites Cruise with director Christopher McQuarrie, who has been at the helm since Rogue Nation (2015). The film also stars Hayley Atwell and Vanessa Kirby, and is set for release in May.
