Sohum Shah’s upcoming thriller Crazxy just dropped its first song, Abhimanyu, and let’s just say it’s as trippy as it gets. A recreation of Kishore Kumar’s track from Amitabh Bachchan’s Inquilab (1984), the new version throws us straight into a retro video game-inspired fever dream, where Shah’s character is trapped in a deadly maze, levelling up through increasingly dangerous obstacles.
With electronic beats layered onto Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s original composition and a cinematic VFX spectacle, the song has fans hooked. One user couldn’t contain their excitement:
“The start was so brilliant, it hooks you so much, just like Abhimanyu is pulled into the maze. The VFX, the retro game vibe-pure artistic expression! If this is just the music video, imagine how insane the movie will be!”
But while Crazxy is serving high-octane thrills on screen, things got equally wild behind the scenes. During filming in a remote village, a local thief stole a large stash of money—only to discover later that it was fake film prop cash. Realising their mistake, the culprit promptly returned it, leaving the crew both bewildered and amused.
A crew member recalled: “We were in the middle of an intense shoot when we realised the money had vanished. Turns out, someone had mistaken it for real cash! But once they found out it was fake, they sneakily put it right back where they found it.”
Now, that’s the kind of plot twist even the Crazxy scriptwriters couldn’t have predicted.
Directed by Girish Kohli (Mom, HIT: The First Case) and featuring music by Vishal Bhardwaj with lyrics by Gulzar, Crazxy is already shaping up to be an unmissable ride. Mark your calendars-this madness unfolds in cinemas on 28 February!
