The highly anticipated Hindi version of ‘Lokah Chapter One: Chandra’ is set to hit cinemas on Thursday, 4 September, following its successful initial release on 28 August 2025. The film has been garnering positive reviews from both critics and audiences alike.
Ahead of the Hindi release, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar took to his official social media account to commend Kalyani Priyadarshan for her performance, also giving a nod to her father, renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan.
“Talent runs in the family…suna thaa, ab dekh liya! Hearing lovely things about the brilliant acting chops of @kalyanipriyan, Priyadarshan Sir’s daughter. My best wishes to her and the entire team of #Lokah on their Hindi version release. More power,” Akshay wrote on X.
Akshay and Priyadarshan have a history of successful collaborations, including hits such as ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. The duo recently reunited for the horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’, marking their first big-screen collaboration in 15 years. Akshay also has Priyadarshan’s upcoming project ‘Haiwaan’ in the pipeline, co-starring Saif Ali Khan.
Other Bollywood stars have also expressed their admiration for the film. Ishaan Khatter, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sharvari were among those cheering for the project.
Produced under Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films banner, the film is written and directed by Dominic Arun. Kalyani Priyadarshan takes on the role of a female superhero, while Sandy plays the lead antagonist. Supporting roles feature Naslen, Chandu Salimkumar, and Arun Kurian. The ensemble cast also includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Asrani.
On Tuesday, Dulquer Salmaan announced the Hindi release date on X, writing, “The world of Lokah Chapter One: Chandra, is expanding. Hindi version releases in theatres on September 4th!”
