The Bradford International Film Festival (BRADIFF) has announced that its 2025 edition will open with I’m Not An Actor (Main Actor Nahin Hoon), starring acclaimed Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui alongside Chitrangada Satarupa. The film is directed by Aditya Kripalani and will have its UK premiere at Pictureville Cinema on 28 October 2025.

Supported by the Bradford South Asian Festival (BSAF), the gala screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, hosted by BSAF Co-Director Aisha Khan. Festival directors Jan Ruppe and Louisa Rose Mackleston said they were delighted to launch BRADIFF with a work that bridges cultures and showcases South Asian cinema on an international stage.

Set across the contrasting backdrops of Mumbai and Frankfurt, I’m Not An Actor weaves a layered narrative exploring human fragility, resilience, and the shared language of performance through the shifting dynamics of teacher and student.

The film also marks a strong collaborative effort behind the camera. Associate Director Anuradha Pandey joined Kripalani in spearheading the production, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui produced the project under his banner Side Hero Entertainment, alongside Faizuddin Siddiqui. Additional production support came from Sweta Chhabria of Mumba Devi Motion Pictures.

The project also features UK-based expertise, with film and festival strategist Aman Dhillon making his debut as Executive Producer and Bhavna Mistry serving as distribution consultant.

Following its Bradford premiere, I’m Not An Actor is scheduled for a UK-wide theatrical release from 7 November 2025.
