Today we start the three-month pilot making BBC archive film about Yorkshire available to our local news media partners. You can access the first 24 items at:

The initial 24 include the king’s visit to the Royal Agricultural Show at York (with the distinctive clipped tones of 1948), Brian Clough reflecting on his time at LUFC, the worries of Sheffield folk in 1959, nudists at Hornsea in 1973, and many more treats.

You can use the collection online, accessed via an embed code, and also take stills to promote your online use in print and social media. It could be a stand-alone feature resource, or part of your wider heritage offer.

Please ignore the default ‘public use’ Terms and Conditions in the preview windows: the Terms applicable to this pilot are hyperlinked from the page’s standfirst.

Six more films will be added each Monday until the end of June. Each batch is under embargo to the following Friday, to give you time to develop your own content around the items you use.
