Ajay Devgn’s nephew, Aaman Devgn, is all set to make his acting debut in Azaad, a film that also marks the debut of Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani. The movie, set against the backdrop of pre-Independence India, will see Aaman sharing the screen with his renowned uncle. However, the young actor has admitted that the experience wasn’t without its challenges.

At the trailer launch of Azaad, Aaman opened up about his first day on set with Ajay Devgn, revealing that nerves got the better of him. “When we first started shooting this film, I was very nervous. I am still nervous, but it is also accompanied by a lot of excitement and happiness. This moment will stay with me forever,” he shared. Describing his initial jitters, Aaman confessed, “I was so nervous on the first day when I shot with him. I was not seeing the character. I was seeing Ajay Devgn.”

Ajay, who was also present at the event, spoke about his nephew’s dedication and his own approach to pushing Aaman to excel. “He keeps getting fired from me all the time. Whatever he tells us is not enough for me. He works very hard, but I keep pushing him. He likes it sometimes, he does not like it sometimes. But that’s how I am, and that’s how I will be,” Ajay remarked.

Azaad, directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor, is a period drama set in pre-Independence India. The film follows the story of a 19-year-old named Govind and his extraordinary bond with a remarkable horse, weaving in themes of love, loyalty, and courage. Ajay Devgn plays a dacoit whose life is deeply intertwined with the horse’s loyalty, while Diana Penty stars as his love interest. The movie also delves into the dynamics of the dacoit and zamindari systems of the era.

Scheduled for release on 17 January, Azaad promises to be a heart warming tale of human-animal connections while showcasing the complexities of India’s historical landscape. For Aaman, stepping into the spotlight alongside seasoned actors like Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty marks an exciting, albeit nerve-wracking, beginning to his career. Fans eagerly await to see if Aaman can live up to his family’s legacy in Bollywood.
