Actor Aamir Khan has drawn comparisons between Khushi Kapoor and her late mother, the iconic Sridevi, after watching the rough cut of her upcoming film, Loveyapa. In a statement, Aamir described himself as a “very big fan of Sridevi” and expressed regret that he never had the opportunity to work with her.
The rom-com, directed by Advait Chandan, also marks the first theatrical release of Aamir’s son, Junaid Khan. Speaking about Loveyapa, Aamir said, “I have watched the rough cut. I liked this film. It is very entertaining. The way our lives have turned out these days due to cell phones and the interesting things that happen in our life because of this have been shown here. All the actors have done a good job.”
Commenting on Khushi Kapoor’s performance, Aamir remarked, “When I watched the film and saw Khushi, I felt that I was watching Sridevi. Her energy was there; I could see it. I am a huge fan of Sridevi.” Reflecting on Sridevi’s unparalleled talent, he added, “She was a brilliant artist who always kept her talent latent when the camera was off. As soon as the camera started rolling, she displayed her true talent. She exuded an energy which I found to be similar to Khushi Kapoor’s performance.”
Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor, made her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, which premiered on Netflix in 2023. The film also introduced Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, and Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan.
