The slate of upcoming films at Warner Bros studios has been delayed.
The released dates of several films including Dune 2, a Lord of the Rings animated movie and Godzilla have been delayed amidst the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike.
Dune: Part Two starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya was a much-awaited 2023 movie. The film is a sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s popular sci-fi epic. The film will now be released on 15 March next year.
The Lord of the Rings animated movie The War of Rohirrim has been moved to December 2024.
Another film that has been moved to April next year is Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
The film is the next addition to the Monsterverse.
The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes have led to several production halts. The actors’ strike has also forced studios to shift production and release schedules.
It has not been revealed if more movies and shows are to face back-log by the strikes.
