Lights, camera, Khan! Bollywood’s Gen Z crowd has been buzzing—and for good reason. Aryan Khan, the son of none other than Shah Rukh Khan, is finally stepping out of the shadows and straight into the director’s chair with his bold debut series Ba***ds of Bollywood. And yes, that title already has everyone talking.

Set to premiere on Netflix, the series is packed with glitz, grit, and plenty of drama. But what’s really adding to the hype? None other than Netflix’s co-CEO Ted Sarandos himself has given Aryan’s work a major thumbs-up.

At the recent WAVES Summit, when Saif Ali Khan cheekily asked Sarandos what show he’s most excited about, the response came without hesitation: “We have a show called Ba***ds of Bollywood coming up. That is really fun… I’ve got four episodes in now- you’ll be getting it soon too.”

Now, that’s some solid hype from the top!

The upcoming series follows the journey of a determined outsider and his inner circle as they chase their dreams in the chaos of Bollywood. It’s being described as raw, real, and refreshingly unfiltered. The teaser gave fans a sneak peek into the quirky father-son dynamic behind the camera. In one hilarious clip, Shah Rukh Khan, ever the dramatic legend, complains during a take, only for Aryan to sass back with a confident, “Yes,” when asked if this is “Tere baap ka raj.” Bold move, kid.

The cast is just as star-studded: Kill actor Lakshya and Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas star Sahher Bambba take on lead roles, with Bollywood heavyweights Bobby Deol and Mona Singh adding gravitas. Karan Johar even makes an extended cameo (because what’s Bollywood without a little KJo sparkle?). Oh, and expect surprise cameos from top industry names and fresh talent alike.

Karan Johar recently gushed over Aryan’s directorial chops in a podcast chat with Raj Shamani: “He has an individualistic voice… He works quietly, without the weight of his father’s legacy. If there’s a King, there’s a Prince.” High praise from the man who basically is Bollywood’s social circuit.

The series is co-created by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, with Aryan also contributing to the writing. Backing it all? None other than Red Chillies Entertainment, the powerhouse production house run by SRK and Gauri Khan.

And while Aryan’s stepping into the limelight now, it’s been a journey years in the making. In past interviews, SRK revealed how he prepped his son for the film world by curating a cinematic crash course- from Hollywood cult classics like Goodfellas to Hindi gems like Sholay and Devdas. No pressure, right?

Still, Aryan isn’t trying to be his dad. He’s carving out his own path, with his own lens—and Ba***ds of Bollywood looks like it could be the first of many bold moves.

So, Netflix audiences, brace yourselves. Aryan Khan is not just “the son of SRK” anymore. He’s ready to tell his own story- one frame at a time.
