‘Psycho Saiyaan’ trailer out: Anud Singh Dhaka, Tejasswi Prakash starrer shows love turning dark

0

The trailer for actors Anud Singh Dhaka and Tejasswi Prakash’s upcoming series ‘Psycho Saiyaan’ has been unveiled.

The two-minute trailer introduces viewers to Kartik (played by Anud Singh Dhaka), a young man from Ujjain, whose world turns upside down when he meets Charu, portrayed by Tejasswi Prakash. Initially, their bond seems like a beautiful romance, but as the trailer progresses, it becomes evident that Kartik’s feelings for Charu evolve into something much more toxic. His love turns into obsession, as he follows her across cities and even takes drastic measures to remove anyone who threatens his grip on her. Ravi Kishan plays a pivotal role that shifts the story’s balance. His character adds pressure, authority, and threat as events take a serious turn.

Speaking about the show, Kishan, as per a press note, said, “My character has the power of influence, and he derives pleasure from it. He plays by his own rules and brings a certain unpredictability to the table with him. It is a role that gave me the opportunity to be intense, unapologetic, and have a lot of fun with the chaos that follows.”

Tejasswi Prakash, who is set to make her OTT acting debut with this series, spoke about her character Charu. “Psycho Saiyaan marks my acting OTT debut, and I am grateful for the layered character I play.”

“Charu may appear rooted in trust and comfort at first, but her world keeps shifting. What makes her journey compelling is how she responds to that change, the doubt, the fear, and the growing awareness that something isn’t right. As the stakes rise, she is forced to confront realities she never imagined,” she added.

The series also stars Srishti Shrivastava, Surbhi Chandna, Vaarun Bhagat, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Yashpal Sharma in supporting roles.

Psycho Saiyaan will stream for free on Amazon MX Player from 25 February across platforms, including MX Player, Prime Video, Fire TV and Airtel Xstream.

Ramadan day 1 recipe: Maqluba

0

As Ramadan has officially begun, a recipe will be shared throughout the month, scrumptious recipes that can help you with difficult decisions as coming up with food ideas to make for iftar, is not easy.

Today’s recipe is Maqluba, a traditional Levantine dish, a variety of Pilaf that is popular across Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Iraq. It consists of meat, rice, and fried vegetables placed in a pot which is flipped upside down when served, hence the name Maqluba.

This recipe approximately serves 10-12

Ingredients:

2 kg chicken on the bone, cut into medium pieces

2 tbsp Supreme Coriander Powder

1 tbsp Supreme Coarse Black Pepper

1 tsp Supreme Turmeric Powder

1 tbsp Supreme Ginger Garlic Paste

Salt to taste

2 cauliflower, cut into florets

4 carrots, cut into thick slices

4 large potatoes, cut into thick slices

2 aubergine, cut into slices

Oil to fry

4 Supreme Bay leaves

6 cups Supreme Basmati Rice

2 onions, sliced

3 lt water

Chopped parsley

1 tbsp ghee

½ cup Supreme Almond Flakes

Spice blend:

Mix together

1 tbsp Supreme Cinnamon Powder

1 tbsp Supreme Cumin Powder

1 tbsp Supreme Coriander Powder

1 tbsp all spice powder

1 tsp Supreme Coarse Black Pepper

1 tsp Supreme Clove Powder

1 tsp Supreme Green Cardamom Powder

Method:

Soak the rice in water and set aside

Marinate the chicken: to the chicken add coriander powder, coarse black pepper, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and salt to taste. Mix well and set aside to marinate.

Fry the vegetables: in the meantime heat some oil over medium-high heat. Fry all the vegetables except the carrots in batches until golden then set aside.

Sear the chicken: heat ½ cup of oil in a large deep pot over medium-high heat (use the oil used to fry the vegetables).

Sear the chicken in batches for a few minutes on each side or until golden. Remove the chicken and set aside.

Prepare the broth: add sliced onions in the same pot used to sear the chicken. Saute until golden then add the chicken back into the pot and gently stir well. Now add 3 lt of water, spice blend and bay leaves. Bring to a simmer and remove any scum that floats to the top. Simmer on low for 20 minutes. Strain the hot broth to remove the onions and bay leaves. Check and adjust seasoning of the broth and set it aside.

Assemble the maqluba: lightly grease the bottom of a large pot. (You can line the bottom of the pan with a round parchment paper to prevent ingredients from sticking). Place a layer of potatoes and aubergine on the bottom, then cauliflower, carrots and chicken. Drain the rice and place on top the chicken.

Slowly pour the strained broth over the rice, just enough to cover the rice by about a centimeter. Place the pot over medium-low heat and bring to a gentle boil. When the water is fully absorbed (use a chopstick to check) reduce heat to low, cover and cook until the rice is fully cooked.

Prepare a large round platter. Bring the pot to the platter and quickly and carefully flip into an upside-down position. Leave for 5 minutes then slowly raise the pot up to have a nice beautiful cake shaped like Maqluba. Lightly toast almond flakes in ghee until golden. Garnish it with almond flakes and chopped parsley.

Controversy erupts after ‘The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond’ trailer release

0

The official trailer for The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond has been released this week, sparking widespread debate and controversy across social media. The film serves as a sequel to the 2022 movie The Kerala Story.

The makers unveiled a chilling trailer that offers a glimpse into the lives of three Hindu girls who are portrayed as being betrayed and coerced into religious conversion by their Muslim boyfriends. Sharing the trailer online, the makers wrote: “They targeted our daughters. They broke our trust. They stole their futures. This time, we do not stay silent. The story goes beyond. Is bar sahenge nahi… ladenge.” The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on 27 February, 2026.

Social media users were quick to react, expressing sharply divided opinions. Some viewers shared excitement about the film, with one commenting, “This trailer gave me goosebumps! Can’t wait to watch the full movie.” Others described it as “hard-hitting” and “absolutely real.” Another supporter wrote, “Thank you for bringing a real story.” However, criticism also emerged, with some labelling it “another propaganda movie.”

The film’s narrative centres on allegations of forced religious conversion involving Hindu girls across families and communities. The trailer opens with a voice claiming, “In the next 25 years, Bharat will be an Islamic state and will be ruled by Sharia law.” It then shifts to Rajasthan, where a family files a POCSO complaint alleging their 16-year-old daughter was coerced into conversion. The story moves to Madhya Pradesh, depicting a young Hindu woman reportedly lured into marriage under false pretences and pressured to change her religion.

A major portion of the trailer focuses on a tense storyline set in Kerala. It follows a Hindu woman who becomes involved with a Muslim man proposing a live-in relationship. When she refuses to convert, she is allegedly forced to eat beef and held captive by him and his family. The trailer portrays her physical and emotional ordeal, while her family struggles to bring her home. Several confrontational moments highlight themes of identity, religion and personal freedom.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond is set to arrive in cinemas on 27 February, 2026.

James Van Der Beek dies at 48: Stacy Keibler shares emotional final days

0

In the quiet hush of a Texas sunset, James Van Der Beek was cherishing the beauty of each passing moment.

The Dawson’s Creek star died on 11 February following a years-long battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer, aged 48. In his final days at his Texas ranch, he was surrounded by love, reflection and an extraordinary sense of presence.

Among those who visited was WWE Hall of Famer, family friend Stacy Keibler, who has long shared a close bond with James and his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek. Reflecting on their final evening together, she described a deeply moving moment as they watched the sun slip below the horizon while he spoke about life, hope and the promises they made to one another. As darkness fell, a shooting star crossed the sky, a moment she felt was far from random.

For Stacy, those last hours were “a true gift from God”. She shared how time seemed to slow, stripped of distraction and worry, replaced instead by stillness, listening, hand-holding and watching the sky change colour. Though his physical presence is gone, she expressed a belief that his spirit lives on, calling him “something extraordinary”.

James leaves behind his wife Kimberly and their six children: Olivia, 15; Joshua, 13; Annabel, 12; Emilia, 9; Gwendolyn, 7; and Jeremiah, 4.

His perspective on life had profoundly shifted after his cancer diagnosis in 2023. As he once reflected, “Presence is really the gift that cancer has given me.” Where he had once gathered life’s small, beautiful moments as memories, he learned instead to fully inhabit each one, to settle into the exact moment and truly live within it.

“Before cancer, I took all these little beautiful moments as part of a collection,” he told Today in December. “Now, I’m able much more to just settle into that exact moment.”

In his final chapter, that sense of presence became his legacy, a quiet reminder of the power of stillness, love and the fleeting beauty of time.
