Rajkumar Hirani confirms that he’s working on 3 Idiots sequel idea

Rajkumar Hirani has made several classic films which are fondly remembered even afer more than a decade. 3 Idiots (2009) is one such film and it is loved for its outstanding humour, touching scenes, comment on education system in India and the casting.

In December 2025, it came to light that the blockbuster filmmaker is planning a sequel to 3 Idiots and that it’s tentatively titled 4 Idiots.

As per Pinkvilla, Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi are expected to reprise the roles of Rancho, Farhan and Raju respectively with one more actor also joining the principal cast. Recently, Rajkumar Hirani admitted that he’s indeed working on the sequel.

In an interview with Variety India, Rajkumar Hirani said, “I have a couple of ideas at the moment. I’m actually working on both films. I’ve been working on a Munna Bhai script and also on a 3 Idiots sequel idea.”

He also added that he was yet to crack the ending of the third part of Munna Bhai. Rajkumar Hirani explained, “For Munna Bhai, I had an idea, which is done to a larger level, but still, I haven’t found the right end for it.”

As for the 3 Idiots sequel, he revealed, “For the 3 Idiots sequel, it was just very recently that suddenly, out of nowhere, this one idea sparked up. And I have no idea how it’s gone out in the universe. Because it’s still not there, but we said we’ll work on it. And then, as and when it happens… but somehow one morning, I saw that the news was out there.”

Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan were also working on the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic, but as per recent reports, it has been put on the backburner.

Nicolas Cage stars as Spider-Noir in first look at Prime Video’s Marvel series

Prime Video has unveiled the first-look images from its upcoming live-action series ‘Spider-Noir’, offering a striking glimpse of Nicolas Cage in his first leading role on television.

The newly released photos introduce Cage as Ben Reilly, also known as The Spider, alongside Lamorne Morris as Robbie Robertson, Li Jun Li as Cat Hardy, and Karen Rodriguez as Janet Smart.

Based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the series is set in 1930s New York and follows Ben Reilly, a seasoned but down-on-his-luck private investigator.

Once known as the city’s only superhero, ‘The Spider,’ Reilly stepped away from his masked identity after a deeply personal tragedy. The story traces his reluctant return to heroism when an extraordinary case forces him to confront his past and reclaim his alter ego, as per Deadline.

Cage’s Ben Reilly is portrayed as a former vigilante grappling with loss and the weight of his earlier life. Lamorne Morris plays Robbie Robertson, a determined journalist navigating the challenges of building a career in 1930s New York.

Deeply loyal to his best friend Ben, Robertson is willing to go to great lengths for both his profession and their friendship.

Li Jun Li’s Cat Hardy is introduced as the star attraction at New York’s premiere nightclub. While she appears self-serving at first glance, the character promises greater complexity beneath the surface. Karen Rodriguez’s Janet Smart is Ben’s sharp and loyal secretary, committed to helping his struggling private investigation business succeed and unafraid to speak truth to power.

The ensemble cast also includes Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson. Guest stars feature Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson and Kai Caster, according to Variety.

‘Spider-Noir’ is produced by Sony Pictures Television exclusively for MGM+ and Prime Video. Emmy-winning director Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve) directed and executive produced the first two episodes.

Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot serve as co-showrunners and executive producers, having developed the series with Oscar-winning producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, the team behind ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’

Cage also serves as an executive producer.

As reported by Deadline, the series will premiere worldwide this spring, debuting first on MGM+’s linear channel in the United States before launching globally on Prime Video across more than 240 countries and territories.

Netflix to rename ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ after court rejects ban plea

In a major relief for actor Manoj Bajpayee and the makers of his forthcoming Netflix drama “Ghooskhor Pandat”, the Delhi High Court has dismissed the petition seeking a ban on the release and streaming of the film.

The decision comes after Netflix informed the Delhi High Court that it is going to change the name of the movie.

The lawyer representing the streaming giant further stated that all promotional material related to the movie has already been removed from social media.

The petitioner had alleged that the title and proposed content of the film are defamatory and communally offensive.

A massive row erupted after social media users criticised the title of the film, calling it derogatory towards the Brahmin community.

Apart from this, multiple FIRs were filed seeking a ban on the release of the project.

A few days back, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had also written to the producer to withdraw the title of the Manoj Bajpayee-starrer.

Urging different OTT platforms to address the issue, they penned, “FWICE and all its affiliated associations strongly object to the use of this title, as it appears to single out and target a particular community and its traditional means of livelihood in a derogatory and offensive manner. Such a title has the potential to hurt sentiments, provoke misunderstanding, and disturb social harmony”.

They further mentioned, “FWICE firmly believes that there should be no division in society on the grounds of caste, creed, religion, or profession. All professions are equally dignified and deserving of respect. The film industry, being a powerful medium of expression, carries a moral and social responsibility to ensure that its content and titles.do not promote hatred, disrespect, or unrest among citizens. We therefore appeal to all producer bodies to refrain from allowing the registration or continuation of film titles that are provocative in nature and capable of creating unrest among Indians.”

Previously, Manoj Bajpayee also reacted to the objection about the name of his next film, saying that the movie is not a remark on a particular community.

He shared, “As an actor, I come to a film through the character and the story I am playing. For me, this was about portraying a flawed individual and his journey of self realisation. This was not meant to be a statement about any community.”

Anil Kapoor roars in action-packed ‘Subedaar’ teaser as a retired soldier

The teaser for the Anil Kapoor-starrer action-drama ‘Subedaar’ is out.

In the short teaser, the ‘Mr. India’ actor is seen as Subedaar Arjun Morya, a retired soldier trying to live a normal life in a fast-changing world. However, his past and the system around him do not let him remain quiet for long.

The one-minute-seventeen-second teaser gives a quick glimpse of Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier navigating a world where his traditional values face modern challenges. Kapoor’s character faces off against crime and corruption, all while struggling with strained family relationships.

In December 2024, Kapoor also unveiled a glimpse of the high-octane action, which further fueled anticipation for the project. The teaser featured the actor dressed in a striped white shirt, beige trousers, and slippers, seated inside a dimly lit room while a group of men outside threatened to break in.

In the teaser, Kapoor’s character, addressed as “Subedaar” and “Chacha,” is seen sitting on a wooden chair facing the door. Calm yet resolute, he signals while holding a gun before loading it, indicating his readiness for a confrontation. The sequence highlights the character’s composure under pressure and hints at the intense action to come.

Subedaar is directed by Suresh Triveni. The film also stars Radhikka Madan, Aditya Rawal, Saurabh Shukla, and Mona Singh.

Subedaar will premiere on Prime Video on 5 March, later this year.

Priyanka played the lead in the last two instalments of Krrish. She then headed westwards for stardom and marriage. She is back in Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, and potentially into Bollywood with Krrish 4.

Her last Bollywood assignment was Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink in 2019, after which she was finalized for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. But the role slipped out of Priyanka’s fingers at the last minute and went to Alia Bhatt.

This is where S S Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu stepped in.

A source in the know revealed what happened next: “Unlike the A-listers in Bollywood, Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu had absolutely no problem working with Priyanka. They treated her like the cinema royalty that she is, offered her the money that she gets in the West, which is much more than what she ever got for any Hindi film, and expanded her role when she stepped in.”

A source very close to the project revealed that Priyanka has become very close to Mahesh Babu, his wife Namrata and their daughter Sitara.

“This is Priyanka’s gateway into Bollywood via Telugu cinema. She has chosen to represent Indian cinema on a global platform through Rajamouli’s cinematic universe,” informed a hotshot Bollywood filmmaker who confessed that he was “briefed” not to sign Priyanka Chopra when he wanted to make a female action-hero film with her.

Kaley Cuoco has a theory for avoiding toxic mom groups.

After Ashley Tisdale went viral for opening up about drama among her mom friends in an essay for The Cut, Kaley had a simple solution for avoiding the headache in the first place.

“If you don’t like being part of a group, just leave, baby,” she said during a 5 February appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “I don’t think we have to talk about it. Just leave. Find a new group.”

But while Kaley, who briefly dated Ashley’s husband Christopher French in the early 2010s, did not think an essay was warranted, Ashley felt that speaking up about her experience made her feel “empowered.”

“Surely, it would have been easier to disappear without explanation and that would have allowed all of us to convince ourselves that we simply ‘drifted apart,’” Ashley reasoned in her own essay published in January. “But from the feedback I’ve received since I started talking about this, I now know I’m far from the only mother who’s been brought to tears by members of a group that’s supposed to lift everyone up.”

Nevertheless, Ashley has also received plenty of flack. Matthew Koma, whose wife Hilary Duff had previously been linked to Ashley’s supposed mom group, went so far as to parody the essay’s message.

“Read my new interview with @thecut,” he captioned a fake magazine cover shared on his Instagram Story 6 January, with the title of the faux article reading, “When You’re The Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth, Other Moms Tend To Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.”

Meanwhile, Dylan Efron, whose older brother Zac Efron worked with Ashley for years on the High School Musical franchise, admitted during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, “I honestly don’t know what’s going on.”

“All I know is Ashley, since I was a kid, she’s been so sweet to me,” Dylan reasoned. “I can’t envision her doing anything malicious to the mom group. So, hopefully it’s just a misunderstanding.”

This is how love should be.”

For the unaware, back in 2016, Nick contacted PeeCee on Twitter; however, the two met in person only in 2017 at the Vanity Fair Oscars party.

After being in a relationship for some time, Priyanka and Nick finally tied the knot in 2018 in a grand ceremony with both Christian and Hindu traditions. Now, both are proud parents of a baby girl, Malti Marie.

‘Simpsons’ legend goes viral playing as himself in ‘Fortnite’

The Simpsons legend Hank Azaria has gone viral for his video reaction to Moe The Bartender’s inclusion in Fortnite.

A number of The Simpsons characters were added to Fortnite late last year as part of a huge collaboration. As well as skins, themed-missions and a reworked map, fans were also treated to Fortnite-inspired couch gags.

Now Hank Azaria, who voices loads of iconic Simpsons characters such as Chief Wiggum, Lenny Leonard and Comic Book Guy, has shared a video “reacting” to Moe The Bartender’s inclusion in Fortnite. “Get a load of this here… Moe is on Fortnite now. All yous better watch out,” Azaria wrote on X alongside the clip.

“Look at this here, my son’s playing that there Fortnite as Moe The Bartender,” he said in an accompanying video, using Moe’s voice. “He’s going to kill people. I hope he kills everybody. Come on! Ah, he ain’t killing nobody.”

The Simpsons x Fortnite crossover was a huge success with more than 2.7million users playing concurrently at the peak of the event.

“Over the course of four weeks, chaos builds, and Springfield becomes more and more corrupted by Homer’s careless use of the Zero Point shard. Players scoured the island to find Homer, Marge, Bart, and Flanders; fought Evil Homer, Witch Marge, and Krusty to pick up loot; and completed The Simpsons Quests to level up in the Springfield Battle Pass,” Disney wrote in a dedicated blog after the event ended. “This season is now over, but keep an eye out for more collaborations in the future,” they added.

Last year, Disney announced a sequel to The Simpsons Movie would be released in July 2027.

Manoj Bajpayee addresses ‘Ghooskhor Pandat’ title controversy, says it’s ‘not about any community’

After filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, actor Manoj Bajpayee has also reacted to the ongoing controversy regarding the name of their forthcoming Netflix drama, “Ghooskhor Pandat”.

In a statement shared on his official Instagram Stories, Bajpayee assured that he takes the emotions of the people hurt by the title of his next very seriously; however, he added that through his character, he only wished to depict the journey of a flawed person, and it should not be taken as a remark on any community in particular.

He wrote on the photo-sharing app, “I respect the emotions and concerns people have shared, and I take them seriously. When something you are part of causes hurt to some people, it makes you pause and listen. As an actor, I come to a film through the character and the story I am playing. For me, this was about portraying a flawed individual and his journey of self realisation. This was not meant to be a statement about any community. (sic).”

Bajpayee further shed light on Neeraj Panday’s approach towards his projects, saying, “In my experience of working with Neeraj Panday, there has been a consistent seriousness and care in how he approaches his films.”

He also pointed out that the decision by the makers to take down the promotional material of the drama, in light of the public sentiment, shows the seriousness with which they are taking these concerns.

An FIR has been filed against the film director and team of the forthcoming web series “Ghooskhor Pandat” at Hazratganj police station, Lucknow.

Some organisations have even warned of aggressive protests, claiming that the title “Ghooskhor Pandat” is defamatory to the Brahmin community.

Earlier, Neeraj Pandey also shared a social media post clarifying that the term “Pandat” is used as a colloquial name for a fictional character, and it does not represent any particular caste, religion, or community.

He also apologised for any ‘hurt’ caused due to the title.
