0

The intriguing teaser offers an exciting first glimpse of the film’s fresh concept and dynamic characters. Packed with striking visuals and an engaging premise, it sets the stage for a story where destiny hilariously goes off track. Taking to Instagram, the makers shared the teaser, writing, “Naye saal mein ho jaao taiyyar, kyunki badlegi aapki dasha aur disha jab life mein aayenge Rahu Ketu Gear up with your gang to dive straight into the cosmic chaos! #RahuKetu Teaser Out Now In cinemas on 16th January 2026.”

The teaser opens with Piyush Mishra in a mysterious, almost otherworldly persona — someone who clearly understands “dasha” and “disha” far beyond what anyone expects. After a chance meeting with him, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma are suddenly turned into present-day versions of Rahu and Ketu. What follows is a whirlwind of cosmic chaos, celestial quirks, and full-on comedy.

Speaking about the film, Pulkit shared in a statement, “We’ve had the most fun shooting this full-on, hilariously twisted chaos of a film. Can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve created.”

Varun Sharma added, “The moment I heard Rahu Ketu, I knew this was going to be unlike anything we’ve ever done- and what an experience it’s been!”

Director Vipul Vig mentioned, “Astrology has always fascinated me, and reimagining it through humour and heart was something I was eager to explore. Having written the Fukrey films, working with Varun and Pulkit again — this time as a director — felt both familiar and thrilling. Making Rahu Ketu as my directorial debut has been nothing short of magical.”

“Rahu Ketu,” set amidst the madness of everyday life, reunites Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma after their popular pairing in the “Fukrey” series. The ensemble cast also features Shalini Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Chunky Pandey, Amit Sial, and Manurishi Chaddha.

The movie, backed by Zee Studios and BLive Productions, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on 16 January, 2026.

Vipin Sharma reflects on overcoming five years of typecasting: ‘It took a lot of mental work’

0

In an exclusive interview with IANS, the Taare Zameen Par actor shared that he went through a phase of four to five years where he kept getting offered the same kind of roles, leading to typecasting. Vipin admitted that this period was challenging and required a lot of inner strength and mental effort to stay motivated.

When asked whether he received new opportunities or faced challenges after “Taare Zameen Par,” Vipin Sharma said, “I faced typecasting for four to five years. It was difficult. I had to do a lot of mental work. But gradually, I performed varied roles, and that changed perceptions. I never stopped working or loving my craft.”

Talking about whether choosing varied genres was a conscious decision, he explained that he has worked across horror, time travel, and drama. “It came naturally. People see your work and feel you suit certain roles. It works both ways. Sometimes you get work through your work, sometimes you approach. For example, I wasn’t initially part of Shahid. One day I met Anshul Mehta and told him I had heard about his film. That’s how I became part of it.”

Furthermore, when asked how he views the evolution of the industry, the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ actor expressed the growth has been remarkable, with new shows, fresh writers, innovative directors, and talented cinematographers all finding space to showcase their work. According to him, OTT platforms have played a major role in this change — without them, many people would have had to wait years for opportunities. He described OTT as a “beautiful blessing” that has opened doors for countless artists.

Vipin Sharma mentioned, “It is wonderful. New shows, new writers, new directors, new cinematographers — everyone is getting opportunities. Without OTT, people would have had to wait years. OTT is a beautiful blessing.”

99-year-old Dick Van Dyke shares why he turned down James Bond role

0

Veteran actor Dick Van Dyke shared that he “almost” became James Bond, and still regrets turning down the chance to play 007, according to People.

The 99-year-old actor, whose award-winning career has spanned decades and continues to go strong today, spoke to Al Roker for a special interview.

When Roker asked, “Is it true you could have almost become James Bond?” Van Dyke responded, “I almost did,” adding that he was approached to play the iconic spy upon Sean Connery’s departure.

“Producer Albert Broccoli came to me and said, ‘Would you like to be Bond?’ And I said, ‘Have you heard my British accent?’ Click!” said Van Dyke.

He noted that he would have taken the role. Still, he ultimately felt it would have been such a departure from his other family-friendly roles in films like Mary Poppins that audiences may not have “accepted it from me,” as reported by People.

He added, however, that playing the role of Bond would no doubt “have been a great experience.”

The actor earned a Tony Award for originating the role of Albert Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie on Broadway in the 1960s and captured viewers’ hearts on series such as The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder, and movies including Mary Poppins (in which he used a cockney accent) and Dick Tracy, reported People.

Van Dyke also noted that he has no plans to slow down in his acting career, despite his age. “I don’t want to. I mean, it’s my hobby. It’s my life. I love it,” he told Roker, adding, “I’m looking for work right now.”

He shared how his life has changed ahead of his 100th birthday and reflected on the challenges that come with ageing, “It’s frustrating to feel diminished in the world, physically and socially,” he wrote, adding, “I get invites to events or offers for gigs in New York or Chicago, but that kind of travel takes so much out of me that I have to say no. Almost all of my visiting with folks has to happen at my house.”

The actor also revealed in the essay that he still tries to “hit the gym three times a week.

“I don’t know why this is something I still want to do, but it is,” Van Dyke wrote, adding, “If I miss too many gym days, I really can feel it, a stiffness creeping in here and there. If I let that set in, well, God help me,” according to People.

The 17-year-old actor Laga’aia expressed her excitement for the movie. She calls the movie an opportunity to celebrate Samoa and all Pacific Island peoples.

“I’m really excited to embrace this character because Moana is one of my favourites. My grandfather comes from Fa’aala, Palauli, in Savai’i. And my grandmother is from Leulumoega Tuai on the main island of ‘Upolu in Samoa. I’m honoured to have an opportunity to celebrate Samoa and all Pacific Island peoples, and to represent young girls who look like me,” said Laga’aia as quoted by Variety.

John Tui will play Moana’s father, Chief Tui, while Frankie Adams will play Moana’s mother Sina. Rena Owen also stars as Gramma Tala, reported Variety.

Christian Bale joins Leonardo DiCaprio in Michael Mann’s Heat 2, featuring AI de-aging technology

Hollywood star Christian Bale is circling for a role in the upcoming part of the ‘Heat’ franchise. The 51-year-old actor is in contention to star in director Michael Mann’s upcoming sequel to his 1995 heist thriller alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, also 51.

However, it’s not clear if who out of Christian Bale or Leo could be playing in the movie. The script of ‘Heat 2’has “drawn strong interest from top talent”, reports ‘Female First UK’.

Production for ‘Heat 2’, which is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt and Mann, is set to commence next year in Los Angeles.

As per ‘Female First UK’, ‘Heat 2’ will be based on Mann’s 2022 novel of the same name that the 82-year-old filmmaker co-wrote with Meg Gardiner. The book unfolds across two timelines, with one following Chris Shiherlis (played by Val Kilmer) as he flees the LAPD and Lt. Vincent Hanna (played by Al Pacino) after the failed bank robbery seen in 1995’s Heat, eventually pushing the story into new territory in the tri-border zone and Southeast Asia.

The other returns to Chicago in 1988, where Neil McCauley (played by Robert DeNiro), Shiherlis, and their elite crew are pulling scores on the West Coast, along the U.S., Mexico border, and in the city itself, while Hanna begins his rise in the Chicago Police Department pursuing a brutal gang of home invaders. Mann previously revealed he was planning to use artificial intelligence (AI) to experiment with “ageing and de-ageing” in ‘Heat 2’.

Speaking at the Lumiere Film Festival in France, he said, “I don’t experiment with technology gratuitously. When I have a dramatic need or aesthetic need for it, then I go deep into what I need”.

The Collateral director, who received the 2025 Lumiere Award at the festival, added, “Ageing and de-ageing may be very important in the next film”.

In August, ‘Heat 2’ was axed by Warner Bros. due to budget concerns, but Mann feels the project’s move to Amazon MGM Studios-owned United Artists will allow the film to be made in the way he wants.

He explained, “‘Heat 2’ is an expensive movie to make, but I believe it should be made at the proper size and scale. It’s going to shoot in Chicago, Los Angeles and Paraguay, and possibly some parts of Singapore. People make dramas at a certain budget level, because of the costs, not because of anybody being greedy. If it was at a lower price, I could have made it anywhere. But it’s complex. I can’t get into all the politics of it”.

Speaking to Deadline, Kosinski was asked if fans might see Brad Pitt return as Sonny Hayes for another film, to which he replied that he and the producers have started thinking about the idea.

“I personally would love to see what other adventures Sonny Hayes has in his future,” Kosinski said during Contenders Film Los Angeles Saturday. “I’d love to see what’s happened with the APXGP team and Joshua Pearce, and see how his career goes, so I would love to be able to tell another chapter in that story and it’s something we just started kinda dreaming about and it’s fun to be in this stage of imagining what that might be.”

F1 follows Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 star from the 1990s whose career nearly ends after a major crash. Years later, he is invited by his ex-teammate Ruben Cervantes, played by Javier Bardem, to race again and help save a struggling team.
