The highly anticipated untitled action-thriller directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, has officially begun shooting in Mumbai. The film, which is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on 5 December, 2025.

Sajid Nadiadwala is set to have a thrilling 2025, with four major releases under his banner. The first to kick off the year is this action-packed collaboration with Bhardwaj. To commemorate the start of the shoot, Sajid shared a sneak peek from the Muhurat day on his Instagram. Alongside Shahid and Triptii, the film features stellar performances from Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda in key roles.

In his post, Sajid wrote, “A sneak-peek into a spectacular journey that begins today! Stay tuned as the magic unfolds. Straight from the Mahurat shoot! #SajidNadiadwala Presents. A @vishalrbhardwaj Film. Film releasing on 5th December 2025.” Shahid also expressed his excitement on Instagram, stating, “Every story has its time, and this one begins now. Shooting starts on 6th January 2025, and we’ll see you in theatres on 5th December 2025.”

The untitled action-thriller is expected to be a high-octane, suspense-filled ride, and it is shaping up to be a key release for Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. This film will join the lineup of other major 2025 releases, including Sikandar, Housefull 5, and Baaghi 4, solidifying Nadiadwala’s position as a powerhouse producer with multiple blockbusters scheduled for the year.

Earlier, rumours circulated suggesting that Deepika might step back from acting due to her focus on motherhood after the birth of her daughter, Dua Singh Padukone, with husband Ranveer Singh in September 2024. Some reports even speculated that she might be replaced in the sequel. However, the birthday tribute appears to confirm that she will reprise her role as Sumathi in the upcoming film. Director Nag Ashwin had previously emphasised that Kalki wouldn’t be the same without Deepika, highlighting how crucial her character is to the story.
