Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler break up after over three years of dating

0

Kaia Gerber and Austin Butler have reportedly ended their relationship after more than three years of dating, according to multiple outlets.

TMZ, who broke the news, spoke to sources who confirmed that the couple called it quits “around the end of 2024,” noting that there is “no bad blood” between them. The reason for the split, according to sources, is simply that “the relationship just ran its course.”

In May 2024, a source was spotted with Kaia and Austin on a date and shared with People that they appeared to be “going strong,” describing how they held hands the entire way to dinner and shared hugs before entering a club. Despite the public outings, the couple has generally kept their relationship private, with Kaia telling WSJ Magazine in an interview, “Honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible.”

Similarly, Austin addressed their private relationship in a 2022 GQ interview, stating, “I don’t think there’s anything I want to share about that. But thank you for providing the space.”

As of now, neither Kaia nor Austin has commented on the breakup, and given their preference for privacy, it seems unlikely they will address it publicly anytime soon.

Jennifer Lopez reportedly ready to “close the door” on “nightmare” marriage to Ben Affleck

0

Reports suggest that Jennifer Lopez is looking to “close the door” on her “nightmare” marriage to Ben Affleck. Sources close to Lopez have claimed that her “fairy tale” marriage turned out to be anything but, and she is now in a “really good place” following their separation. A source told People on Tuesday, 7 January, that Lopez is eager to move on and put this “crazy chapter” behind her.

Although Lopez was recently photographed at Affleck’s home, a separate source clarified that the couple is “not getting back together.” The pair had reached a settlement in their divorce a month after Lopez filed to end their marriage, which lasted just two years.

Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, with sources revealing that she believed she was finally getting her “chance at the fairy tale.” However, it was reported that she didn’t consider the true nature of Affleck as the “prince charming” in her story. “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was in the fairy tale,” an insider said, adding that Lopez’s belief in “big love” wasn’t in Affleck’s nature. “Ben has a darkness to him that no other person can fix. [His ex-wife] Jen Garner couldn’t fix it, all the success in the world couldn’t fix it,” the source added.

In a recent interview with Variety, Lopez reflected on her “challenging relationships,” drawing parallels between herself and her character in Unstoppable. “We both grew up Latina in this country. We both had children and have hopes and dreams for them,” Lopez said. “We both had challenging relationships, which left us holding our families together.”

While Lopez is reportedly moving out, she plans to keep the green diamond engagement ring that Affleck gave her. An insider shared with OK Magazine that Lopez feels no guilt about keeping the ring, explaining, “It was a gift. Just because the relationship didn’t work out doesn’t mean she has to give it back.”

Jacob Elordi in early talks to replace Paul Mescal in Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars

0

Jacob Elordi is reportedly in early negotiations to replace Paul Mescal as the lead in Ridley Scott’s upcoming thriller, The Dog Stars. The film, based on Peter Heller’s 2016 post-apocalyptic novel of the same name, tells the story of a deadly virus that decimates humanity, leaving behind a small group of survivors.

While Mescal, 28, had initially been attached to the project, he was forced to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts with Sam Mendes’ highly anticipated four-piece Beatles biopic, according to Variety. Should the deal be finalised, Elordi, 27, would take on the role of Hig, a pilot who, along with his dog and a tough gunman, struggles to survive in a world overrun by dangerous scavengers known as the Reapers.

Elordi’s representatives have yet to comment on the matter. However, The Independent has reached out for a statement.

The casting shift comes after Ridley Scott appeared to reveal Mescal’s involvement in the Beatles film during a Los Angeles screening of his Gladiator sequel. In conversation with director Christopher Nolan, Scott mentioned, “Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go.”

Although it hasn’t been confirmed which Beatle Mescal will portray, there’s speculation that he may play Paul McCartney due to his striking resemblance to the legendary musician.

This revelation follows comments made by Ringo Starr about Barry Keoghan being cast as him in the film, while other rumours suggest that Joseph Quinn of Stranger Things and Harris Dickinson of Triangle of Sadness may take on the roles of George Harrison and John Lennon, respectively.

Meanwhile, Jacob Elordi has a busy year ahead. His hit HBO series Euphoria is scheduled to begin production for its long-awaited third season this spring. Additionally, he is set to star opposite Margot Robbie in Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights. The Dog Stars is also expected to begin production around the same time, though it remains unclear whether any of these projects will be delayed to accommodate one another.

Matt Reeves discusses Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and its potential integration into James Gunn’s DC Universe

0

Director Matt Reeves has weighed in on the possibility of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman entering James Gunn’s DC Universe, stating that it would only happen “if it makes sense.” The highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 film is expected to begin shooting later this year. Recently, Gunn revealed that he had considered incorporating The Batman into his new DC Universe, sparking discussions about the future of the franchise.

Speaking at a podcast during the Golden Globes, Matt Reeves commented, “It really comes down to whether it makes sense. There was a story I wanted to tell — the epic crime saga. It’s been important to me to play that out, and James and Peter have been really great about that. They are letting us do that. What the future brings, I can’t really tell you. I have no idea. My head is down right now on getting The Batman Part II shooting, which is the most important thing.”

Reeves also addressed the potential for Robert Pattinson’s Batman to be integrated into the DC Universe, stating, “I don’t know, we will have to see where that goes.”

The sequel to The Batman has already faced delays, with Warner Bros. announcing a one-year postponement to the release date. The film is now slated for worldwide release on 1 October, 2027. The delay has drawn disappointment from fans, but James Gunn has defended the decision, pointing out that significant gaps between sequels are quite common in the industry.

In a recent statement, Gunn shared, “To be fair, a 5-year gap or more is fairly common in sequels. 7 years between Alien and Aliens. 14 years between Incredibles. 7 years between the first two Terminator films. 13 years between Avatars. 36 years between Top Guns. And, of course, 6 years between Guardians Vol 2 and Vol 3.”

Following the delay announcement, Gunn confirmed the reason for the postponement, stating it was due to writing-related issues. He explained, “Sure. Yes, it is true. The only reason for the delay is there isn’t a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already). Matt is committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting, and post-production on big films.”

As fans eagerly await further details, it seems that the future of The Batman and its place in the evolving DC Universe will continue to unfold over the next few years.

Hrithik Roshan reflects on 25 years in Bollywood ahead of milestone anniversary

0

Hrithik Roshan is set to mark a monumental milestone in his career as he celebrates 25 years in Bollywood. The actor, who made his debut in 2000 with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, will officially complete a quarter of a century in the industry on 14 January. In a delightful twist, Hrithik’s birthday falls just days before, on 10 January, making this month even more special for both the actor and his devoted fans.

Taking a brief respite from his busy schedule, Hrithik met with members of the Indian media on Tuesday in Mumbai for an informal interaction. During the meeting, he took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to the media for their unwavering support over the years.

Reflecting on his journey, Hrithik recalled the early days of his career with fondness and a hint of humour. “25 years! I remember 25 years back when Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was releasing, I was so shy and so anxious that I didn’t do a single interview. I didn’t step out of my house to do anything. I just skipped the entire promotional event. 25 years have passed and unfortunately, that side of me has not changed. I’m still as shy,” he shared with a smile.

Despite his reserved nature, Hrithik acknowledged how much the media has played a role in shaping both his career and personal growth. “This is really an excuse and an opportunity for me to say things to all of you that probably I have never said in 25 years,” he continued. “I truly think that you have helped me, all of you, have helped me become the human and the actor that I am in these 25 years through our interactions. Through all the questions and answers you have made me feel uncomfortable, I grew with that. Sometimes you made me feel responsible, sometimes you made me feel accountable. Guys, not good for a shy guy!”

Hrithik’s genuine gratitude was met with loud cheers from the media present at the intimate event, which also served as a celebration of his 25-year journey in Bollywood.

He concluded his emotional address with more appreciation for the role the media has played in shaping his public image. “You know, it is you speaking to them, telling them how to see me, and how to understand me. It is your perceptions that you shared with the world that taught them how to see me. Thank you for that. Thank you for making me, contributing so much to my journey.”

To commemorate this special occasion, Hrithik’s debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai will be re-released in theatres, offering a nostalgic experience for both old and new fans alike.

Sonu Sood talks about his ‘dream team’ for Fateh’s music with Yo Yo Honey Singh, Arijit Singh, and Sukhwinder Singh

0

Actor-turned-producer Sonu Sood has always placed great importance on music, and his directorial debut Fateh is no exception. Set to release on 10 January, the film boasts an exciting soundtrack featuring some of the industry’s biggest names, including Arijit Singh, Yo Yo Honey Singh, and Sukhwinder Singh.

When discussing the stellar team behind the film’s music, Sood shares, “I was very clear about the voices I wanted to be a part of my script. This film isn’t just about the music; it’s about how music supports the overall narrative. Arijit Singh, Honey Singh, B Praak, Jubin Nautiyal, Stebin Ben — they were always my first choices. And everyone involved did an incredible job. I want to thank them for supporting me in my debut as a director. It definitely made Fateh very special.”

For Sood, the role of music in cinema goes far beyond simply complementing the visuals. “I’ve always believed that music is the backbone of a film — aside from the action, emotion, and everything else. I knew that there had to be variety in the music to support the film because songs play a crucial role in moving the story forward,” he explains.

Sood’s collaboration with the celebrated Yo Yo Honey Singh stands out, especially considering their long-standing friendship. Talking about their now-viral track Hitman, which has amassed over 50 million views on YouTube in less than three weeks, Sood reminisces, “I’ve known him for 16 years, ever since he was in Mohali making music. I always believed in this young Punjabi boy who was doing wonders. Look at him now — he’s a star, yet he was so happy to create Hitman for me. And the fact that the song has broken records is the icing on the cake.”

With the film’s powerful music already garnering attention, Fateh is set to deliver a cinematic experience that combines action, emotion, and a soundscape that elevates the narrative. Sood’s meticulous attention to detail in curating the soundtrack highlights his deep understanding of how music can shape the storytelling experience.

Fans of the film are eagerly awaiting the release, and with the promise of unforgettable tracks by some of the most prominent voices in the industry, Fateh is shaping up to be an unforgettable cinematic journey.
