After winning praises for her debut single “In my city”, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has now sung in electronic dance music (EDM) track “Erase”.
“Erase” is composed by a band named The Chainsmokers, which comprises of producer Andrew Winter and disc jockey (DJ) Alex Pall. The duo heard Priyanka’s work and asked her to team up with them.
Priyanka thanks her “In my city” team, who gave her time to work with the duo.
“Music for me has been a very organic process. I have been fortunate enough to work with the best and the most passionate people in the business. I have my team to thank for ‘Erase’ even though I was hard at work on my debut music album, they allowed me the opportunity to break away and work with and feature on this single by The Chainsmokers,” the 30-year-old said in a statement.
She says it was fun working with the New York-based band.
“These guys are super talented and also completely crazy, which made the whole process so much fun,” Priyanka said.

Karan Johar enjoys role as reality show judge
Filmmaker Karan Johar has been active on the small screen this year, and says he enjoyed playing judge on two reality shows – “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5” and “India’s Got Talent 4”.
“It is great that in this avatar, I got to show my talent as a judge. So this year, there was a lot of judging and I had a lot of fun. I think lots of credit goes to the team and to the fellow judges,” the 40-year-old said here Wednesday at a press meet of “India’s Got Talent 4”.
The show’s grand finale was telecast with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif as special guests.
Karan says both the shows have been special.
“There have been two reality shows for me this year, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ and ‘India’s Got Talent’. Both were fun in their own special way,” he said.
Besides Karan, actress Malaika Arora Khan, Kirron Kher and choreographer-director Farah Khan were the other judges on “India’s Got Talent 4”.
John teams up with Viacom 18 for new productions
Actor John Abraham has joined hands with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures to co-produce “Jaffna” and “Hamara Bajaj”, his next projects as producer.
John, 39, made his production debut with director Shoojit Sircar’s directorial “Vicky Donor” this year. The movie was a sleeper hit, and earned rave reviews.
Sircar is also directing both “Jaffna” and “Hamara Bajaj”.
“Vicky Donor” was co-produced by John and Eros Entertainment, but Sircar had expressed his resentment with the production banner for not sending the movie for even consideration when a jury was selecting India’s official entry for the Oscars.
If sources are to be believed, John feels Viacom 18 has done justice to both big budget and even smaller budget, concept-based films like “Kahaani”, “Gangs Of Wasseypur” and “OMG: Oh My God!”, which have done well at the box office.
Sarah Jessica Parker shrugs off fashion icon tag
Sarah Jessica Parker, who is best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw – famed for her skyscraper heels in ‘Sex And The City, insists that she can’t be fashionable all the times because she’s looking after her three kids.
“It’s not an identity that I connect to,” a leading newspaper recently quoted Parker as saying.
“I’m grateful if anyone says anything kind and if they say something less kind I take that as a part of anyone talking about you at all. It’s not how I think of myself and think it’s probably the healthier approach,” she said.
However, the Golden Globe Award winner also asserted that she loves being given the red-carpet treatment.
“I love beautiful things and I’m privileged to borrow a beautiful dress. I feel like fashion has a proper place in my life,” she said.
“It’s just not a reality. Not when you have three kids and you go to the market and there are hungry people at home. There’s just no time to let vanity enter into that,” she added.

OFT advises price comparison websites how clearer information can improve consumer trust
The OFT has written to 100 leading price comparison websites asking them to ensure they are providing clear information to consumers, after a review published today by the OFT suggested that some sites could do more to improve trust amongst the public.
The review says that in general, price comparison websites have represented a major step forward for consumers, enabling them to secure better value when buying goods and services, but that some people are missing out on potential savings because of a lack of trust. The review also says that the role of such sites is likely to become even more important in the future as online sales continue to grow and initiatives such as the Government’s ‘midata’ project put more information in consumers’ hands.
As part of its review, the OFT conducted a websweep of 55 price comparison sites which found that a number of sites could improve their privacy policies and their complaints and redress processes. It also identified scope for some sites to provide greater clarity about the way search results are presented, and clear identification of the business operating the website.
In order to help consumers make the best use of price comparison sites, and to assist those who do not currently use them, the OFT has joined forces with other government departments, sector regulators and consumer groups to develop six ‘top tips’. It has also released two new information films which can be viewed on the OFT’s YouTube channel. The OFT’s top tips are:
• Protect your data
– Always read the information these sites provide (usually in a privacy policy but sometimes in the part of the terms and conditions dealing with data and privacy).
– If you do not want your personal information to be passed to other companies, check to see if there is the ability to ‘opt out’ on the website, for example by ticking a box to say that you do not give your consent for your information to be shared.
• Make the comparison which is most helpful to you. Check if your results are presented by relevance, price, or popularity and what the website says about how often it updates its information on prices and availability of goods.
• Use a number of different sites. Expressions like ‘we’ve found the best deal’ or ‘we’ve searched the market’ don’t guarantee you are seeing every available offer in the market, so always check out what is on offer on a number of different sites.
• Know who you are doing business with. Check whether the site tells you the identity of the business (not just the name of the website) and their business address. By law they have to do so.
• Do your homework. If you can, use an accredited site as they have met certain standards for accreditation. Some websites comparing energy products are accredited by Consumer Focus and some telecoms comparison websites are accredited by Ofcom. Some financial services websites are compared by the Government backed Money Advice Service.
• Problem or complaint? Citizens Advice can help Some sites may tell you that they are not liable if they make mistakes or mislead you; this may not in fact be the case. If you want to complain but aren’t sure how, Citizens Advice can help you to direct your complaint to the relevant person. Visit www.adviceguide.org.uk or call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 08454 04 05 06
The OFT’s 2007 market study into internet shopping estimated that if consumers used price comparison websites as effectively as they could they would stand to gain additional savings of £150m – £240m per year.
Airedale Workers Sprout ‘Taches for Men’s Health
Pictured is porter Dean Williamson (right) with a team of ‘Mo Bros’ from Airedale Hospital. They work in various departments but have got together to grow a new look for November to raise vital funds to improve the health of men.
The workers have joined the global Movember campaign and risen to the challenge of sprouting and grooming a moustache for 30 days to raise awareness and money to help tackle prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Dean, aged 26, of Keighley, who is a porter attached to the pharmacy section of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, has never had a moustache before.
He said: “I do think attitudes are changing and men are becoming more interested in their health, but there is still much to be done to catch up with the priority that women give to their health.
“Hopefully our moustaches will be a talking point for many people which will raise the profile of men’s health issues and that we can raise as much money as possible to boost the funds of charities which work hard to help reduce the risk of prostate and testicular cancer.
“I will probably have the moustache off next month as it does itch a bit – but it’s all for a great cause.”
Movember was set up in 2003 by a few friends over a beer in a pub Melbourne, Australia and the moustache is symbolic of changing the face of men’s health.
Supporters aim to have fun for a serious cause, use the moustache as a prompt for talking about the often ignored issues of men’s health, to try and change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, and to educate men about the health risks they face thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
In 2011, over 254,000 people from the UK took part in the worldwide campaign and raised £22m.
