The 2025 Brit Awards will hold a special place for One Direction fans, as Liam Payne, the late member of the band, is set to receive a heartfelt tribute from his former bandmates—Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. According to an insider from the music industry, plans for a One Direction reunion at the event are “already underway.”
The source shared with The Sun, “The tribute to Liam at this year’s awards show has caused a real buzz, and there’s speculation that the remaining One Direction bandmates could finally come back together on stage.” The tribute will aim to be a fitting homage to Liam, who was a regular at the Brit Awards both with 1D and as a solo artist. “Liam loved the Brit Awards and attended and performed many times over the years. He will forever be part of the show’s history,” the source continued.
While the preparations are still in the early stages, the insider added that “official approaches” are set to take place soon, with discussions about incorporating performances, video montages, and a live orchestra into the tribute. Alongside the possibility of the remaining One Direction members coming together for the performance, other stars from the music industry will also join in to remember Liam’s legacy.
If the reunion happens, it will be a momentous occasion for fans, as the group has been disbanded since 2016. The 45th edition of the Brit Awards will take place at The O2 Arena in London on 1 March, 2025.
Liam Payne tragically passed away on 16 October, 2024, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31. Liam was laid to rest the following month in a private ceremony at a church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, where his One Direction bandmates attended, with some even visibly moved by the loss.
