Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal, Anita Rani, Nitin Ganatra and Adil Ray are among the British Asian stars who have featured in a video message for the British Asian community in the UK as enters its fifth week of lockdown.
In a video titled AN URGENT MESSAGE FOR THE BRITISH ASIAN COMMUNITY, the stars share the startling facts of how the coronavirus pandemic is infecting the ethnic minority community at a higher rate than others in the UK.
Nitin Ganatra, who plays the famous Masood Ahmed in Eastenders opens the video telling viewers in the video that for the British Asian Community the coronavirus maybe even more serious. He says: “Research suggests that more than a third of patients who are critically ill in hospital with the virus are from ethnic minority backgrounds.”
Bradford’s very own Anita Rani also appeals in the video for people to take care of themselves and those around them.
